Wolfen (ウルフェン Urufen) was one of the five guardian deities that dwells within the Wood Dragon God's five orbs and described as the one who reads the minds of people.

Appearance

Wolfen is a tall, lanky tree-like creature with sharp claws and dark spots acting as eyes.

Personality

Wolfen has a solemn, monotone personality with no redeeming features.

Synopsis

Wood Dragon God arc

Wolfen appears across Aldoron after the orbs were destroyed and the nutrients absorbed, with the mission to eliminate anyone who was not absorbed. One of his bodies sprouts from the Backside after Natsu deals 1 point of damage. He explains that the Wood Dragon God has 1,000,000 points of stamina and the fire Mage could defeat him if he repeatedly used the same technique. The sprout grows and forms a body, Wolfen introduces himself and states his mission. He grabs Natsu's face and reads his mind. The fire Mage burns his arm off, but the God Seed states that he can read it, the strength of the most powerful person in his mind. Wolfen transforms, explaining how his powers work, and claims that this form will kill him. However, he is shocked that he transformed into a cat and thinks this is a mistake, which Natsu does not believe it is. He tries to get Natsu to think of someone he had a life-or-death struggle with, but the Dragon Slayer still thinks about Happy, distressing Wolfen over what goes on in his mind. Wolfen is defeated shortly after, getting sent away with a punch to his face. After this, more of his bodies sprout from the ground and surround Natsu.

Meanwhile, more of his bodies confront the enemies. In the Right Hand Town, a group encounters Lucy's group, where one scans Cana's memories and becomes the strongest person she can think of, Gildarts. This Wolfen then uses Crush to break the ground they are standing on, forcing them to flee. At the Left Hand Town, a group is destroyed by Laxus. At the Right Shoulder Town, a group reads the minds of several Fairy Tail mages, becoming a horde of Makarov who then chase after them.

Magic and Abilities

Telepathic (読心 Dokushin): Wolfen is able to read his target's mind in order to distinguish which person they think is the most powerful and uses it to his advantage against them.

Copy (コピー Kopī): Wolfen can copy the appearance and Magic of the person whom his target thinks is the most powerful in order to defeat them.

• Crush (粉砕(クラッシュ) Kurasshu): After reading Cana's mind, Wolfen copies Gildarts' appearance and Magic and uses it against the Fairy Tail mages.

• Giant (巨人(ジヤイアント) Jiyaianto): After reading the minds of various Fairy Tail mages, Wolfen and his duplicates copies Makarov's appearance and Magic and chases after them.

• Ankhseram Black Magic (アンクセラムの黒魔術 Ankuseramu no Kuro Majutsu): After reading Natsu's mind, Wolfen copies Zeref's appearance and Magic and inadvertently activated this Magic on Aldoron.

• Death Predation (死の捕食 Shi no Hoshoku): This usage of this spell creates a dark wave that kills everything in the user's immediate vicinity.

Self-Duplication: Wolfen has the ability to make and control multiple versions of himself, all possessing the same mind-reading and copying abilities. These duplicates are powerful and precise enough that they can transform into powerful individuals as well as use their respective Magic such as Gildarts and his Crush Magic, Makarov and his Giant Magic & Zeref and his Ankhseram Black Magic.

Immense Magic Power: Wolfen possesses an immense amount of Magic Power which allows him to maintain a large number of his duplicates at the same time as well as being able to replicate the use of various Magic used by the individuals he has copied.
