February's Sexiest Mage Alive is none other than Loke (also properly known as Leo). He's a Celestial Spirit and a Mage of Fairy Tail. His interests include: women, women, women, and even more women. :P
IamJakuhoRaikoben, otherwise known as Jak or preferably Jakslut, is a rotund creature that runs the once perv-infested wikia known as Fairy Tail Wiki, now ran by Fredo Corleone's, from "The Godfather", if you know what I mean (shade). Hmm, not much to say about this failed experiment Reli put together. But I will say, this failure was created to lie and falsify his identity. This rotund creature is also very smelly, so smelly that he gave Natsu Dragneel a heart attack and his first defeat. Apart from his extremely lazy demeanor, he has the tendency to perv on under aged Asians (girl or boy; Umnei being the "MAN" who took his virginity at the age of 5). Amen. *Drops mic*
(IamJakuhoRaikoben) "Is that fried chicken with a cup of kool-aid on top of a watermelon-like plate on the table?! Let me have it with some corn bread in my room while I hide from the cops!"
Yo bitches and bitchettes. It is time for more TMITM since I know you all missed me so much.
Wiki:We didn't miss you.
Well you can all go fuck yourselves :)
Mkay, so there unfortunately isn't very much to analyze about this chapter but lets see what we can dig up. The biggest thing about this chapter is Laxus and his new condition. He is having some after effects from absorbing all those magical barrier particles in Tartaros arc. This is Mashima's way of nerfing Laxus again. If you notice, all the heavy hitters of FT have had some plot element put in place that keeps them from being as strong as they should be. Erza has an armor for every situation so how does he make her less beastly? He stopped having her use her armors and instead just use the Clear Heart Clothing in every fight. Makarov is one of the most powerful wizards in all of Fiore so what is stopping him from fighting these battles? He has a heart condition that stops him. Gildarts is a nomad, Mystogan is in Edolas, Mira lost her magic for a time and Laxus was exiled from the guild. Now that Laxus is back full time, Mashima needed a way to stop Laxus from being the raging beast that we all know he is and thats where this comes into play. Also, if you look, he is clutching his heart in a very similar manner to his grandfather whenever his heart condition acts up. A little nod to Makarov there.
So after some comedy and a little GaLe moment, we get to the next big thing of the chapter I want to discuss, and it is not Kagura's boobs, despite the fact that they are quite big. Its Dimaria and how terrible she is. So first off, I think its pretty strongly hinted now that she likes girls. Whatever. But Sane was the first to raise this point and I 100% agree with him. Dimaria got caught off guard and was kicked in the face because she wasn't paying attention to her surroundings. Mind you this is an elite warrior of a militarized nation who is called the Valkyrie. She is one of the strongest mages in a country jam packed with them and yet she got kicked in the fucking face by a little 12 year old child? If this was real war and not FT, Dimaria would be dead right now. If an actual soldier with the intent to kill had wanted to kill Dimaria, they could have, just then. Wendy has no way of attacking from stealth. She had to run straight at Dimaria and attack from the wide open. This means that Dimaria has shit awareness and should be dead. Dimaria is probably the most disappointing Spriggan right now.
So thats pretty much all there was to this chapter.
This chapter was very...bland. Just Laxus showing he is hurt and Wahl playing around with him. The form change was kind of cool but not that unexpected.
But there are a few things I want to analyze here. So Dimaria. Aside from the fact that she is stupid and should be dead, we now have a hint at her magic. She says that only a split second will pass from Wendy and Sherria's perspective. So she obviously has some kind of a time related magic. Knowing the way magics have shaped up in this series so far its probably just going to be stopping time but it would be cool if it messed with someone's perception. A magic that allowed her to change the way people around her perceived time. Either making no time at all pass allowing her to strike quickly, or speed up their perception of time, mentally exhausting them. Would be cool, but will never happen.
The other thing I wanted to discuss with this chapter is the Neinhart = Simon theory. So everyone is saying because Kagura and Erza are going to fight him there must be a reason why and something that connects them. The prevailing theory is that Neinhart is Simon and that either he didn't die or that he was revived somehow. The theory kind of works and its possible, but god I hope not. Dead characters need to stay dead and Mashima has a big problem with that. What good does Simon coming back do? Kagura has finally begun to accept her brother's death and forgive everyone involved. It would be absolutely terrible for her character development if her dead brother was back and is looking for revenge. Just terrible.
Well this chapter sucked. Really, it was terrible. Laxus was given that nerf for a reason. He is not supposed to be an unstoppable beast right now, he is supposed to be very injured and going up against an opponent many times stronger than him. The whole Wahl cancelling the magic barrier particles was stupid and doesn't make sense. The fact that every single translation of this chapter varies on what happened means that what actually happened was not very clear and is not well written. I also really hate the use of flashbacks to explain sudden power ups. Here we see a flashback to Laxus learning about his great grandfather which somehow explains how he developed a new technique that allows him to throw lightning at a lightning immune opponent until it works. This is why I hate Laxus fights. They are the worst written fights in the series. Its just "I am Laxus, I always win, hahahaha" and then he just stands there throwing lightning at his opponents until he wins. Its so boring.
At this point I am more disappointed in the Spriggan 12 really. They haven't lived up to the hype at all. Each one was said to be far stronger than any of the FT mages yet they have all been defeated so easily so far. God Serena was super cool and incredibly powerful but taking him out like he was is just so disappointing. Wahl is a machine that can absorb electricity yet because it was Laxus fighting him, he lost to electricity. I don't really have anything else to say about this chapter. It was just so disappointing.
First point of note. A lot of people were hating on Kagura's reaction to Jellal appearing. However, I find it completely in character. This is the man who killed her brother, whom she had hated for so many years. A year ago she finally learned the truth behind what happened and only now is she learning to forgive. The first time she saw Jellal she grabbed her sword and wanted to kill him. This time she is just shocked and slightly sickened. Her reaction has gotten less violent as she learns to cope with things. By the end of this fight, I think you will see Kagura forgiving Jellal and fighting alongside him.
So obviously the big thing of this chapter is Ultear. Like I called a few chapters ago, Dimaria can just stop time. OP and boring. Perfect for a shitty character like Dimaria. But of course because she is a time magic user, she has to fight another time user, so queue Ultear, now young again, showing up to fight and... I really don't like it. Now don't get me wrong, I love Ultear. I think she was a great character, however, note that use of past tense there. Was. She had her character arc and her sacrifice in the GMG was amazing and beautiful. I loved it then and I still love that development. But bringing her back now just kind of ruins how emotional and amazing that sacrifice was.
Now, of the theories I have seen on why she is back....they aren't very good. First off, the least likely is that Midnight and Cobra are creating an illusion of Ultear. That is just dumb and defeats the reason she is back in the first place. They can't use time magic, so they can't fight Dimaria's time magic. The theory I am hoping turns out to be true is that she can only be young while Dimaria's magic is in use. If she is permanently young again, I will have lost all faith in Mashima.
So that is all for this month. Share your thoughts in the comments.
Ultra: Well we didn't exactly get a lot of people jumping up and down to join the team like we used to, did we?
The Wiki: Uhm....
Ultra: Yeah, that. ( -_-) So, I'm still here for the anime review.
The Wiki: Do it!
Ultra: Well, what else am I here for?
Well, this month's first episode is basically gonna be filler. The gang arrives at a forest and while planning to camp, Warrod and Yuri have a fight and go off. Totally a smart choice, lol. Setting up a fire, Precht tells Mavis the story of when the three of them went off looking for a valuable plant of some kind and the events that they encountered.
The story basically involves them going into a cave, narrowly avoiding closing doors, getting chased down by a minecart, fighting a monster that turns out to have been the plant which they were after. Of course, the cave collapsed in on them after they fought the monster and got the plant, but we never see how they escaped.
Mavis and Precht talk a bit and both are pretty normal about it. Yuri and Warrod show up suddenly though, having caught a big ass fish. They've forgot about their argument too, since they were more into fishing. The guys talk about their time together as Treasure Hunters (though they never mention what they did with that plant) and their interest in the Tenrou Jade. Suddenly though, Zera disappears and Mavis goes looking for her.
Mavis finds her by the water. Since they both randomly switched to their swimsuits for no reason, this is apparently the right place to be. Zera regrets her past and asks Mavis to teach her Magic as the two laugh and talk.
Zera suddenly tumbles into the water though (#WorstAnimeTumbleEver) and Mavis joins her. The two embrace in that same pose from the manga, not mirrored, but the two are not naked and have their swimsuits on. I'm fine with this, frankly. I didn't care for nudity in the manga or the illusion that nudity is necessary for intimacy.
The next day, the gang arrives at Magnolia Town and talk about Cardia Cathedral. So what should they see but the Cathedral with a giant dragon skeleton over it. Damn that looked cool =D
Overall, not the worst of episodes, but not really that good either.
Verdict: 6 / 10
Now that the gang has arrived in Magnolia Town, we get a story about how Blue Skull took over the once-thriving town and basically everything went to hell. It's not an original story by any means, but it works well enough here to establish Blue Skull as a real threat that the heroes have to work towards defeating rather than just plowing through them the first chance they get.
A fair bit of filler is in this episode, dedicated to a mother and daughter whose family patriarch was killed by Blue Skull, along with many other people. It's a good motivational factor for our characters to hate Blue Skull, though the scenes with the widow and her daughter aren't exactly sad enough. Granted, that's just my opinion, but still.
The gang does try to take on Blue Skull and handles a few of their Mages until their reinforcements arrive and Mavis' illusions are called out as such by Blue Skull's master. With that, the gang has to tuck tail and run or be taken down and damn is Warrod strong if he's holding two grown men while running.
Overall, a pretty good episode.
Verdict: 7.5/ 10
After escaping Blue Skull, the gang hides out in a forest, where Mavis finds Zeref while she tries to get water. The dude is completely naked but I guess when you spend most of you life alone, you don't tend to care much about that stuff. I mean, how many of us have been naked or without clothes on when we were alone? Right, so anyways, Mavis talks to him and realizes what he is but now who he is and asks him to teach the gang magic.
The teaches them about the basics of Magic and Ethernano, which builds a basis for the Second Origin reveal we got before the Grand Magic Game. The first step is meditating and releasing yourself so you can absorb Ethernano, in an "Inner Peace" kind of way a-la Kung-Fu Panda 2. Precht picks it up pretty fast but Yuri has more difficulty. Makes sense since he's such a rambunctious guy and functions better in action than in stasis, so he gathers Ethernano via movement. Warrod's got his Magic seemingly set so for the next few days, the gang trains for the upcoming confrontation.
I have to say, I really like this. We should be seeing a lot more training like this in Fairy Tail as a whole. Fighting takes skill as well as preparation. Victory is (ideally) for those who work the hardest. You've gotta actually do something for success, not just have friends show up and offer you random power-ups when you're down on your luck (talking about you-know-what). Do I wish it were longer? Maybe, but given what I know they're working with, and the limits around it, I'm alright with it.
There's nice character growth for Warrod here too, since he feels he's holding back Precht and Yuri since they're further ahead in his training. Thus, he talks to Zeref who shows him the Tree Magic he'll eventually being using so proficiently. I admit, it was weird at first since I thought of Warrod as the most level-headed of the group (Precht being a little too closed-off to be fully reasonable, imo) and thus I thought if anything he was the glue for the gang, but this is actually what we see later on. After all, he carried the gang away from Blue Skull. The other guys acknowledge his strength and see him as someone to be respected.
Eventually, the gang is prepared for their battle against Blue Skull but Zeref (who never revealed his identity) has disappeared. Of course, the battle would be too one-sided if he were there and he wouldn't have joined even if asked. I do like his words as he walks off into the distance though (though he informed nobody that he was leaving, I guess he thought their training was done).
Anyways, this is probably the best episode of Fairy Tail Zero so far. It had exactly what I look for in an episode and wasn't a bore to get through- I never looked at the timer on the video player.
Overall, a really good episode that I personally enjoyed a lot.
Verdict: 8.5 / 10
The time has come for the gang to take back Magnolia from Blue Skull. To do this, they visit the filler characters (whom the writers surprisingly did not forgot, so kudos) from two episodes ago and ask them for help in gathering the townsfolk. On that front, the townspeople are gonna go and complain to Blue Skull in a large gang.
Up in the mountains, Geoffrey the guild master is hunting when Warrod attacks him and retreats, taunting him about what they're doing to the town. He sees it on fire and goes back where Mavis confronts him. He thinks for a moment she's actually burning the townspeople but he sees that it's an illusion and dispels it. Evidently though, he underestimated the strength of her illusion and he had in fact not even left the forest, which allows him to be captured in a giant...cage.
Ok, I'm gonna assume it's made of Magnanium or whatever that magic-resistant metal they made the Eclipse Gate out of was. As Yuri and Precht are kicking the crap out of the Blue Skull members, Geoffrey tells Mavis that the Tenrou Jade which they were after should not be physically touched. The fairy tactician doesn't think to question whether or not he's lying though and rushes back to tell the guys.
Precht believes what she's saying but Yuri, who's already holding it, thinks she's gonna trick them and refuses to let go. The Jade activates and animates the Dragon skeleton on the cathedral, with Yuri inside it having gone nuts and rampaging. He won't stop and nearly kills Mavis, but she's still intent on saving him.
Overall, this episode isn't really as good as the last episode for me. I also feel Geoffrey was captured a bit too easily since the plan felt a bit thin. Still, it's a decently-handled episode so I'm good with it for the most part.
Verdict: 7/ 10
Overall Score for This Month in the Anime: 7/10
Verdict: A good follow-up to last months episodes that really show us why the main series is not as well-written by comparison.
I hope you guys enjoyed this issue of "This Month In The Anime". If you guys are interested in writing the article from next month onwards, contact Rai.
Hello, everyone! Last month I featured Yukino Agria and I created a poll to ask you guys' opinion on who I chose to portray her (Jennifer Lawrence). I posted the results of that poll below. 8.9% of you thought it was a good choice. 33.3% of you thought it was okay. And 57.8% of you thought it was bad. My choice for Yukino Agria got HORRENDOUS reception! I figured it would. >_> Let's hope my choice for Acnologia gets even better reception! :D To the 57.8% of you who didn't like my incredible choice... you can go fuck yourself. ಠ_ಠ

Jason Momoa
Now, given the very little we've seen of Acnologia, it's really hard to find a great fit for him. But I do think Jason Momoa is the best that can possibly be found. Jason, as you all know (or should know), is most famous for playing Drogo on Game of Thrones. Drogo is pretty much the lovechild of badassery and manliness, much like our beloved Acnologia. If Jason can capture Drogo, then I have no doubt he can capture Acnologia. Plus, he's buff with tan skin and a naturally threatening glare. How could he get more perfect? :D So, what do you guys think? Is he a good match for Acnologia? Do you know an actor who'd fit better? If so tell me in the comments! ^__^ And if you don't think Jason is a good choice, I'd really like to know why. And even if you do think he's a good choice, I'd like to know why in the comments. So comment!
In light of Valentine's Day passing us by in February, I decided that, for this special revisit to Fairy Fiction, I would review some Valentine's Day fics for the main pairs of Fairy Tail.
Below are four fics for NaLu, Gruvia, Jerza and Gajevy! Hopefully they fill you up with fluff and happy feelings :)
Boyoyoyoyo!!
☆ Helpful Phrases ☆
Okay, for those of you who are unaware of fanfiction, or not as immersed in it as I am, I'll just run through a few terms I may use or that may be important for you whilst you are reading. These can include acronyms or just jargon that you will find a lot if you look at the stories on fanfiction.net, or any other fanfiction website.
A/U: A simple acronym that means 'Alternate Universe'. AU fanfiction usually takes on one of two mediums. Either A, the fanfiction involves all of the characters from the original story, but put in a different world (i.e: Natsu and Lucy living in New York) or B, the characters in their original world, but with slight alterations from the original series (i.e: Fiore, but with no Mages or anything magical). As such, whilst some AU fanfictions can be very similar to the original story if the author, say, keeps Magic and merely changes the setting to a high school, other AU fanfictions can be very unique and differing from the original series.
Crack: A joking term some authors use to describe a story they have written that is likely completely stupid or written just for a laugh. In general, crack fics can hold a variety of features, but are called so because you would have to think the author is on crack to have come up with such ridiculous ideas. Some examples of crack fiction could be a story about Lucy falling in love with Zancrow, or Natsu deciding one day that he wants to be a transvestite.
Drabble: If an author describes their story as a drabble series, it usually means that their story is just a slice-of-life fanfic with nothing much deep and meaningful in terms of plot and character development. Usually these fanfics are just a bit of fun, and not something that you have to focus on incredibly well or remember many details for.
Fanfiction ratings: Every fanfiction on fanfiction.net is categorised into one of 4 categories depending on its content. This starts with K and K+ fiction, which are stories that anyone can read. T fiction comes next, being labelled so because it is advised that people under the age of 13 do not read them. Finally, you get M fiction, restricted to those 18 or older.
Fluff: A term used to describe a fanfiction that contains cutesie, almost cliche romance. The dialogue in conversations is usually not deep and meaningful in any way, rather just there to show the interactions between pairs.
Head Canon: Head Canon is a less popular term than many here, but is used to relate that something that happens in a fanfic is the product of what the author believes happened in the original story, even though it may not necessarily be canon. For example, an author could write a story about Laki during the Grand Magic Games, but detail some trauma she went through during the seven year time skip, even though events of the time skip (for Laki) are unknown. A Head Canon then basically states that the author strongly believes such an event happened, and will write their story as if it did.
Lemon: A fanfiction that warns of lemon is telling you that at some point in the story there will be an explicit sex scene. For those who think that such scenes can't be that bad, lemon fiction is usually only found in the M section of the site, and these fanfics are very, very hardcore when it comes to sex scenes. I'm not talking about two characters falling into a bed together or just kissing, lemon fanfiction is amazingly descriptive. As such, be careful if you don't want to read such things and avoid them.
Lime: A less concentrated version of a lemon. Lime fictions usually just involve characters cuddling or kissing and usually do not contain explicit scenes. Better for people who don't like the full-on nature of lemon fics.
Non-con/Dub-con: You may see these warnings alongside lemon/smut warnings in the description or opening of a fanfic. These warnings stipulate that a sex scene occurs in the fiction where one of the participants is either non-consenting, or has dubious consent. In general these are fictions that include rape, so if this is something that you would not want to read, avoid the fanfic or ask the author for more information before reading ahead.
OC: An OC is an 'Original Character'. Pretty straight-forward. Stories that contain OCs or are about OCs merely contain a character not from the original series, rather someone new the author has created.
OOC: OOC, or 'Out Of Character', is a term some authors and/or reviewers use to describe a character that behaves outside their typical personality of the original series. Sometimes the characters are purposely written differently, but at times the author merely admits that they had trouble writing a certain character into their personality, and will warn readers that something may happen that seems odd for that said character. An example of OOCness could be Gray complimenting Juvia and Juvia reacting by yelling at him, punching him and then walking off for no previously hinted at reason.
One-shot: A one-shot is a story that takes place in one chapter. The author could be telling a short story, expanding a manga scene, or anything they like, however the entire fiction is not continued past the one chapter it contains. One-shots can be great for interesting short stories or lemon fiction, but if you are looking for something with an in-depth plot and character development, one-shots will not be for you. Two-shots, three-shots etc. are the same thing, merely with the number of chapters implied.
Smut: See Lemon - it's the same thing.
A Rose by Any Other Idiot,
by okmeamithinknow
Modern A/U - Romance - Humour - Natsu x Lucy - T
"Spending the remaining hours of Valentine's Day in the emergency room, the proverbial icing atop her crappy day, was not how Lucy Heartfilia imagined the day ending, but fate, and her lovable idiot of a boyfriend, apparently had other plans for her."
Modern A/Us of Fairy Tail are really amusing if they're done correctly, and I loved the way that okmeamithinknow details Lucy's life in this world without Magic. Lucy is a journalist, something that is both amazingly in-character, but also believable for the setting. It was nice to be able to read (and laugh about) Lucy's struggles with work, and the small insert of other characters made it even more enjoyable - Juvia freaking out about a date was perfect.
The romance in the story is also on-point. Natsu and Lucy to me have a very close friendship, and a silly one at that; the author highlights this very well and makes their interactions cute without losing that goofiness that makes NaLu... Well NaLu. The end is also very satisfying, believable and funny.
However, my only problem (and not with this fic, but with NaLu romance in general) is that I don't see Natsu being a very romantic guy. I don't see him using sweet words, or getting typical gifts for Lucy, and as such I never really warm up to his character in stories like this. That being said, I'm not the biggest Natsu fan in any sense, so I'd bet that anyone who is would find these types of stories (and this one) to be very entertaining :)
I rate "A Rose by Any Other Idiot" an 8.6 out of 10.
"Gray wants to surprise his wife for Valentine's Day."
If you guys know anything about me you'll know that I am in no way a fan of Gruvia, and haven't been since the timeskip. Despite my serious disliking for this pair though, I still wanted to bring Gruvia fans a nice Valentine's fic, and I think this story will satisfy :D
Allow to say that I actually enjoyed this fic quite a lot considering it was Gruvia. The story is set in the future and the author highlights that, because Juvia and Gray are married, Juvia has calmed down a lot in terms of being all over Gray protectively. This is very noticeable in the fic and I liked reading about a calm and sweet Juvia waaaaay more than the possessive, pushy personality she has around Gray in the canon story at the moment.
As for the plot itself, the story is very simple. It's an old tale told many times (I won't spoil, but the plot is easy enough to guess) but doesn't lose its charm here. It made me realise that perhaps I could like a future Gruvia, if Mashima plays his cards correctly with them in the canon story. And for a fic to make me think that, well, it deserves many praises ;D
I give "You Make Me Wanna Say I do" an 8.1 out of 10.
"He forgot about his sins, his redemption, his need to move on. Erza was all there was. She was the past, present, and future. His past, his present, and his future. Their future, if the gods were willing."
Ah, Jerza. What's not to love? Their complex yet heart-warming relationship gets me in the feels every time, and it's no different with this lovely fic by Sky Slayer :)
First off, let me just say that I love it when Crime Sorciere make an appearance in Jerza fics. We all know both Jellal and Erza can be hopeless when it comes to love, and I adore when CrimeS in particular plays some sort of silly role in hooking the two up. They're just such pranksters and a great family, so seeing Meredy and Cobra joke around in this fic was great.
Now, as for the interactions between Jellal and Erza - all I can say is that this fic is A++++ in this area. Jellal's inner thoughts are so perfect, and Erza admitting to her being lonely on Valentine's Day is something we have seen in canon itself. I feel that everything talked about, down to the way the characters acted (eg. Erza being a little flustered but not embarrassed at Jellal seeing her in something skimpy) was perfect, and I like nothing more from fanfiction.
The story is also very sweet and very believable. I felt both super happy and bitter-sweet by the entire thing - which is how I always feel about Jerza.
A must-read for Jerza fans!
My score for "Fire in My Blood" is a 9.6 out of 10.
Romance - Gajeel x Levy - Pantherlily - Lucy Heartfilia - K+
"How do you respond to a confession of love when it, maybe, wasn't real? How do you respond to your own confession of love when, maybe, you aren't sure if you meant it? "
I am a fan of Gajeel and Levy and I love the cute little relationship they have going on in the manga. As such, reading a fic about Gajeel accidentally saying "love you" to Levy in passing and both Levy and Gajeel freaking out about it made me super happy and filled me with feels.
The premise is nothing new, but the idea in my opinion fits Levy and Gajeel to a T. I also like that both of them confide in their close friends about what happened - everyone was very in-character, and that, of course, makes the fic even better.
The other thing I really like was Lucy and Levy's technical look into the incident. Their fondness for books (and romance ones too) made this a nice conversation to read through, and one that really suited their personalities. Additionally, the ending was very satisfying, with Gajeel acting exactly as I thought he would :)
If you like Gajevy I am certain you will enjoy this cute little one-shot!
Welcome back to Battle Arena. Last month, Jellal and Laxus clashed, and Jellal won with a score of 9-3.
Vs.
Time left March 31, 2016 23:59 UTC
The kings of the underworld clash at last. The master of all magic Hades vs the definitive demon Mard Geer.
WINNER! N/A
Votes for Hades
I keep going back and forth on this one but I have to say Hades. The guy is an absolute genius of magic. I have to imagine that when things come down to it, he could come up with a counter to whatever Mard threw at him, including Memento Mori. Memento Mori is the one thing I imagine gives Mard a true edge but Hades managed to make all the Fairy Tail mages look pathetically weak, including Laxus. If he is capable of that I have to imagine he could counter Memento Mori in some way, seeing as he knows just about every kind of magic under the sun.
I kinda never saw the point of Mard Geer. ( .__.) I think Hades would win hands down. He has so many Magic abilities to call upon. Mard can fly, but Hades has chains to hold him down. Mard can also use strong Magic and has great durability, but Hades doesn't have a heart lol, so overall I think Hades would win. Tbh I don't even see Mard putting up a fight...
I'm conflicted, especially given that both Mard and Hades tanked some powerful Magic. However, Mard is pretty cocky so I think in a straight up fight, if Hades really wanted him dead, he'd be able to do it before Mard fully realizes the gravity of the situation.
Votes for Mard Geer
This sure is tough because Hades has his Devil's Heart, which gives him incredible durability (unless it is found and destroyed). However, Mard's Memento Mori is a spell that puts a person in the realm between living and dying, and from what we have seen only Devil Slayer Magic seems to counter it. As such, and even with his Devil's Heart, I feel Hades would not be able to take Mard down quickly enough so that Memento Mori isn't used; once it is I don't think even his Devil's Heart would counter the spell.
That's a tough one, but I'm giving it to Mard Geer. At the end of the day Hades has a huge disadvantage; he has to keep his Devil's Heart close to be able to fight, and Mard Geer's Magic Curse is devastating enough and with such a range that his thorns would easily destroy everything in their way til they found it. Remember, he was able to keep up and damage CSK. Any building/machinery/whatever protects DH will crumble before him. After that, it's game over.
Both very powerful in their own right. I love that both of them use mainly Magics/Curses that seem simple but they have mastered it to a point where they can wreck havoc with them. Hades' Bullet Magic and Chain Magic were able to overpower Makarov and later take on Team Natsu while Mard Geer's Thorn Curse was able to keep THE FUCKING CELESTIAL SPIRIT KING at bay and then dominate 3 Dragon Slayers and Gray in a fight. I love them both just for that. They don't need fancy cliche overpowered Magic like Darkness Magic *cough*Brain*cough*Jose*cough* or Dual Dragon Slayer Magic *cough*Future!Rogue*cough* or Heavenly Body Magic *cough*Jellal*cough*, no just simple chains and vines mastered to perfection. Of course that doesn't mean that they don't have more cool shit up their sleeves if they need to like Amaterasu's formulas or Mard's pet giant demon Plutogrim once he uses Alegria. But wait, there's more. They also have ultimate spells like Grimoire Law and Memento Mori that only plot armor can counter them. PLUS, Hades can then release his Demon's Eye and Mard Geer can get into his Etherious Form and they both just go into completely different levels that if the plot didn't require them to lose they would never but in the end they both met their end at the hands of the Black Mage Zeref. The 2 of them are definitely my favorite main villains in the entire series but alas one of them must win. Seeing as both of them are crazy strong I had to choose who would win based on who would be most likely to lose and I see that as being Hades since his powered is shackled by his Devil's Heart, which has so many possible ways of being interfered with while Mard always has access to all his Magic power.
This was a tough one, but I'm going to have to give it to someone I literally despise - Mard Geer. As much as I hate the guy, his strength cannot be denied. He went toe to toe with the Spirit King, outclassed all of his unbelievably powerful subordinates, and made some of the strongest fighters in Fairy Tail look like children. And while Hades was incredibly powerful himself and could undoubtedly give Mard Geer a run for his money, I feel as if his heart is a liability that could possibly be exploited for his defeat.

What do you think was appealing about the podcast?
A: Hmm, I really enjoyed listening to the questions! I didn't really listen to much cuz I have a very short attention span.. But the question part always kept me interested!!!
You always claimed to be sick when asked to join the podcast. Were you really? ( =_=)
A: Yes, I suffered from different kinds of sickness as a young child. I really wish I could join you guys in a podcast so that people could lust over my voice, but since it ended I guess that will never happen. Darn! What luck. :(
What was your favorite recurring joke in the podcast?
A: The constant Umnei jokes really. They never got old.
As you asked it before, what was your favorite thing Hungry ever did in the podcast?
A: There was a period of like 5 weeks where Nucky kept asking the same question every week because Hungry kept skipping it. It drove Nucky insane and Hungry played it off so perfectly.
While listening to the podcast, whose voice surprised you the most?
A: Ehhhh... maybe at first it was Umnei's. I just hadn't heard him before, and whilst I didn't have any preformed ideas of what he would sound like, I was still surprised the first time I heard him. Reli is probably second. I knew he was Mexican but I wasn't expecting such a thick accent ;D
What were your personal favorite podcast segments?
A: The questions section, because that's when all the fun would happen and we'd get to ask stupid things. On this note, I'm sad you left out the part after you sang for me Prime when Hungry said "Well, that was funny, because Carrot actually didn't ask that", and you sounded like you wanted to die XD
What are your favorite podcast memories from behind-the-scenes?
A: The behind-the-scenes of the podcast was usually pretty funny. We'd occasionally hear one another's family members calling out to them, the guy in the rain would sing and the train would be there too. But honestly, I really enjoyed talking to Hungry and Umnei (and the occasional guest) in a relatively open fashion so I guess that anything where we had fun would be a favorite memory of mine.
How'd you decide on which moments should be in the video?
A: It was definitely hard, but I listen to the podcast a fair bit while I'm at work. The best moments stick with me so I decided on those which were most memorable as well as which I thought would get the most laughs.
Hi guys! how are you all? This issue of Raven's Coven is about a Celestial Spirit this time, and, unsurprisingly, Aquarius was chosen as the most popular Spirit!
Let's do this.
DESIGN
I love Aquarius' design, okay? She looks like she comes straight out of a fairy tale(pun intended), or like a water spirit from a greek myth or something. Or a mermaid! Why didn't I think of the mermaid comparison first? I don't even know. Anyway, point is, I think she is the most accurate depiction of a zodiac sign, and one of the few that is not completely a caricature (more of that on Personality).
That said, I know that her powers are supposed to be water, but I wish she had a more normal hair color, like black. I generally dislike the fact that anime characters get crazy hairstyles and hair colors, but I think I can let it slide in this case, since she is a magical being and all that.
Also, Aquarius is one of the few characters whose skimpy outfit actually makes sense given that she is a mermaid, and is surprisingly not sexualised too much, so kudos to Mashima right there!
Overall, I'm satisfied.
10/10 Perfect depiction for the character
PERSONALITY
Aquarius is basically the Tsundere trope character of Fairy Tail. She'd rather die than accept that she cares for Lucy, and will mostly kick her ass or be a bully to her. I'm generally not a fan of the particular trope, but Aquarius ends up subverting it by being overall nice to Lucy after they meet again, so I can get behind that.
I can also kind of see where she's coming from. She's said to be the strongest Celestial Spirit, and yet she ends up at the hands of a naive, weak little girl, with her skills being limited mostly to babysitting her. I can see why she couldn't stand Lucy at first, and why she was too proud to accept that she got attached to her. Also, it helps that when it really matters, she is really dependable and will protect Lucy with her life key?
Oh, also she is kind of a fangirl when it comes to Scorpio. She stans over him and will stab a bitch if she gets too close to him. She also likes to make fun of Lucy for not getting a boyfriend, which is usually funny. Other than those qualities of hers, along with her temper, I don't think there's a lot to talk about here.
What I'd like to see is her interacting with other Spirits more. Like, what does Loke think of her? Is she protective of the weaker minded Spirits, like Aries? Who is she friends with? Those are things I'm really interested in, but will probably never get an answer to.
Quiz for you astrology believers out there: is Aquarius a typical aquarius? Did Mashima do his homework and depict her accurately? I'm really interested to know lol.
That's it. That's Aquarius' ability. She literally only throws water at people. If you check her wiki page, you'll notice she doesn't even have a named spell there. Other Spirits like Loke, Aries, Taurus or Virgo do get their own spells, so I find it weird and funny that Lucy's "strongest Spirit" is all that fearsome with her only ability being throwing water at people.
Mashima could at least make it more badass! Have her create water currents, or tsunamis, or whirpools. I know we're supposed to take his word for it about Aquarius being the strongest Celestial Spirit, and she's indeed been effective most of the times she's been summoned, but for me, the way her Water Magic is being used is not all that intimidating. The way I see it, if someone can brace themselves for a strong Water based attack, then Aquarius basically becomes useless.
Maybe if we saw her creating Water Shields, like her Star Dress did, I'd appreciate her more. Maybe.
5/10 Could be better
SIGNIFICANCE TO PLOT/ROLE IN THE MANGA
After Loke, Aquarius is the most important Celestial Spirit in the manga when it comes to storytelling. She actually has a purpose; being Lucy's trump card/Deus ex Machina whenever things got rough. Also, she recently became the catalyst to stopping Brandish (possibly permamently), and was the character through whom we saw what happened with the Heartfilia clan and their connection to Zeref. Now that I think about it, I think her role may actually be grander than Loke's. Let's not also forget that she was a large part of Lucy's progress and development in the last timeskip, since her loss significantly affected one of the main characters. Given all that, I'd say she is pretty important, for a side character that is.
8/10 Most important Celestial Spirit
Overall, Aquarius scores... 7.5/10!!! I suppose this score is accurate for her! She may not be a main character but she's everything a side character should be, and she helps the characters develop and moves the plot forward in all the right ways. Good job Hiro!

Hi everyone! To celebrate the 50th issue of Sorcerer Magazine, I, Carrot, will be reviving an old favourite article previously written by Ishthak, Mistress of the FT Wiki. Here I’ll be going through some awesome (debatable) merchandise that'd make any Fairy Tail lover cough up their life savings. So sit back, relax and window shop to your heart’s content!
The Best
Fairy Tail figures are abundant, particularly if you're after one of Lucy or Erza (Juvia, Mirajane and Wendy though also have some cute items).
Most of the time these figures copy poses straight from the manga or from promotional posters, but every now and again a figure is designed from scratch, and that to me is special. Take this Lucy cat figure for a perfect example. The design of Lucy's ridiculously cute and sexy outfit comes from a poster Mashima drew a while back, but the makers don't copy the poster, rather uses it as a base for the figure's design. And that to me makes it a winning figure indeed :)
Good replicas of Lucy's CS keys are hard to find. More often than not they are cheap plastic keys that have little detail to them, closer copies that still get key details (such as colour) wrong, or worse, a set that contains keys that don't even exist because they were created before all 12 gold zodiac keys were revealed.
Alas, once the anime was released in the States, better merchandise started to appear, and then came these lovely creations. Each key is solid metal, painted perfectly to resemble Lucy's keys. The smallest of details are correct, down to the metalwork that crafts each key exactly into the canon shape it's meant to be in. All of the keys also match in style, so they don't have different sizes or width etc. These keychains are beautiful must-haves for anyone looking for perfect replicas of Lucy's keys. Silver keys (such as Plue's) are also available, but be aware that Sagittarius' and Capricorn's keys have yet to be released - probably because Sagittarius' is literally just an arrow and could probably be used as an actual weapon if someone put their mind to it XP
Why am I so confident about this product, you might be asking? Well, because I own all 10 available golden keys myself! That's how! :D
To be honest, most of the time I'm not one for very blatant merchandise that one wears on one's person. Every now and again though, I find an exception to this, as I did with these Happy earrings.
The thing that makes me like them so much is the cute and playful nature of them. The hanging tail is a lot of fun and the pose really reflects Happy's silly and... well, happy personality. I feel that they'd brighten up anyone's day, even if that person didn't have any idea what Fairy Tail was, and for that reason I would totally buy them~
The Worst
Now, perhaps it's just me, or perhaps it's just not, but I find this particular group of figures (by that I mean the ones for Natsu and Happy too) to be rather unappealing to the eye.
Chibi figures can be super cute when done correctly, but this to me just misses the mark. The bug-like, circular eyes... the lack of a mouth... the rigid pose... I just don't find this product cute or nice-looking in any sense. Granted, it is obviously Lucy and the price is very reasonable, but I couldn't fathom paying money for something that looks so... standard .-.
Who knows... maybe there's a group of fans that're into this kind of thing, but for me this product is a big no-no.
*shudders*
Now, I'm all for cute and quirky backpacks, especially for younger people, but I am totally against backpacks that look like the devil incarnate.
Maybe it's the largeness of Happy's head... maybe the wide eyes that seem to be staring into your soul... maybe the open mouth that looks to be silently screaming in eternal pain... Whatever it is this bag is creepy as fuck and I'd be avoiding it at all costs. Seriously, unless your aim is to scare little children. It might be useful then ( .__.)
Some cosplays are just not meant to be attempted, and this, by God, is one of them.
Don't get me wrong, perhaps I would like this more if it was to be used at home more like a onesie (like this) because that would be comfortable and cute and I could understand forking out nearly $150. However, this isn't like that. The fabric looks rough and thin. The design is lazy and unappealing, and most of all...
WHY THE ACTUAL FUCK WOULD YOU WEAR THIS IN PUBLIC!?
The only reason I would is if I lost a bet .-. Seriously, that's it. And I'd make someone else pay for the monstrosity too. I don't even think many people would realise you were trying to be Happy. My guess would be the blue chocolate Yowie :/
Alas, maybe someone out there thinks this is cool or cute and gets a kick out of it. I, however, wouldn't touch this with a ten-foot pole.
The Biggest Surprise
More often than not, effort simply isn't put into merchandise when a cheap, plastic version of something can be made and pumped out of factories at minimum cost and then flogged to anime fans for insane prices. It’s always nice then to see someone put effort into animanga goods, be it through the detail of a product, the product’s meaning, or just having it reflect the series in general; every now and again, something pops up that does just this. I, for one, have always loved simpleness. I like merchandise that is easily recognisable to a fellow fan, but not so blatant that you might as well walk around with a sign taped to your forehead that says “I’M A DORKY FAN OF X SERIES!!”
As such, when I saw Gintoki’s range of Fairy Tail jewellery, I was very impressed. Not only is the product of a high quality, but it nicely represents Team Natsu in a wearable form without being over the top or lame.
Each piece takes a part of the character it’s meant to represent and delicately displays them. Take Erza for example: one of the necklaces and the ring for her character were inspired by the wing motif of her Heaven's Wheel Armor; the other necklace from her Heart Kreuz Armor. Lucy’s necklaces feature Leo, Virgo and Aquarius’ keys, also neatly arranged. It’s nice little things like this that allow you to wear something that not only looks delicate and beautiful, but also says to anyone with a keen eye, “Why yes, I do like Fairy Tail.”
These great products don't come cheap though. Prices range from 7,500 to 8,500 yen (about US$63.50-71.31) per item, not including if you’d like to spend extra on an FT themed chain as well. However, some would argue that that’s the price you need to pay for style and beautiful subtlety.
And looking at how gorgeous they are, I would be willing to argue that the price is well worth it.
Great art needs no introduction - it just speaks for itself! You guys should definitely go check out the piece in all its glory by clicking here!!! And if you want to see more by this phenomenal artist, then please visit the artist's deviantart gallery. I give this piece a 10/10, and I highly recommend you guys check out more from this artist.
If you could exchange bodies with a member of the Fairy Tail Guild, which one would you choose?
A: Laxus might be interesting to trade with. We only sparred a few times, but he showed a lot of interesting Magic techniques I'd like to try. *pauses* Actually... does he still have that green-haired man following him around??
