Alright, honestly, this chapter was an emotional rollercoaster for me... and not in a good way. :/ When I was reading the first few pages of the chapter, I was this feeling this horrid mixture of anger and disappointment because I thought Mashima was going to end another battle of Erza's with her lecturing her opponent in her fucking flame pants. So you can imagine how overjoyed I was when I saw Irene transform into a Dragon and cripple Erza with the swat of her hand!!! I legit thought for one teensy weensy second that Mashima might actually let Erza lose a battle... and then Irene made the meteor come crashing down. As fucking badass as that was, I knew the second I saw it that all chances of this battle having a decent ending were gone. >_> I will admit, however, that Erza looked badass jumping up towards the meteor with one hand. And that line about the Queen of Dragons/Queen of Fairies was pretty dope. :D Honestly, after the stellar backstory, this whole thing with Irene went down the tubes. How badly I hate it, however, depends entirely on how this battle ends. If Erza takes the meteor without any armor or spells, I will literally scream at how nonsensical it is whilst the fanboy in me jizzes at how awesome she is. >_> Irene's "what is my daughter doing" comment, however, makes me think it will end another way. With Irene having some sort of change of heart and possibly intervening in some manner. Which would be shit. No other way to sugarcoat that. Since both of these outcomes are unacceptable, here's hoping Mashima goes with a third option that I haven't thought of. >_>
