Goooodddddd lord. We haven't had a chapter this shitty in quite some time. >_> I would apologize for being late, but it doesn't seem like anyone was in any rush to share their thoughts on this steaming pile of dog shit anyway.
Alright, so the chapter begins with Brandish negotiating with August, and honestly, it's going how all of us expected it to. She has absolutely no bargaining chips or compelling reasons for August to stop his assault. She's basically just telling him: "Can you pretty pretty please commit treason and betray everything you believe in for no reason whatsoever?" I loved Brandy when she first appeared, but honestly Mashima has wrecked her character.
And speaking of wrecked characters, Bradman, who seemed to have so much potential upon his debut, is not a Keith carbon copy like we thought. He's even worse - he's a carbon copy of all the Nine Demon Gates. I don't know what was lazier - Mashima recycling old abilities for Bradman or making his fight last all of two seconds. >_> And I might have even been okay with a two second fight if it had been good, but no. Oh no, Oh no, Oh no. It was literally just Bradman dishing out curses that we've already seen and then Gajeel countering it with a little something I like to call Nakama Bullshit. >_>
The only bright spot in the chapter was the foreshadowing (or what I perceived as foreshadowing) of Gajeel and Levy's death, but even that's nothing worth mentioning because this is Mashima and we all know hell would freeze over before he killed one main character, let alone two. All in all, this chapter was garbage and even writing a review for it was painful. Just gonna pretend this never happened and wait for next week.
