Review
Okay, so this was an amazing chapter! Erza vs. Ajeel, while a short battle, lived up to my expectations in so many ways. I don't even know where to begin. :D Okay, so Erza is apparently able to slash Ajeel because she summoned the Neptune Sword which is a sword that is made of water and allows her to use Water Magic. Love it! She always uses a variety of different armors and I was hoping that she'd actually debut some weapons with Magical abilities this arc as well. ^___^ Plus, it's good that Mashima actually has a reason why she was able to slash Ajeel without her sword turning to sand. She also managed to simultaneously keep his sand away from her with the Wind God's Sword. I love that for the first time in a long time Mashima is having Erza actually fight in armors with her brain rather than just randomly slashing at her opponent. :D
Ajeel, however, is now incredibly pissed and finally shows us just why he's deserving of the title Spriggan by using his Sand World technique, which is a humongous sandstorm that's massive enough to engulf the entire town of Magnolia!! ^____^ Sand World really didn't disappoint either. Not only does it have an incredible area of effect, but it limits his opponents movement and visibility while he's able to move and attack freely. Ajeel then grasps Erza and prepares to kill her, but before that he wants her to call him "God." Erza, of course, refuses and requips her Morning Star Armor which provides Bisca with a target to shoot the Jupiter cannon at. She does so and it hits both Ajeel and Erza. Erza uses that moment to requip into her Nakagami Armor and finish the battle. I was admittedly, despite my confident talk, extremely worried that the strength of the Spriggans was going to get down played in this battle and I am beyond glad that Erza didn't finish off Ajeel alone, but did so with the help of Bisca. Hopefully that will stop all the nonstop bitching from you Erza haters. :D Overall, this chapter was pretty dope and made me even more excited to see what the rest of the Spriggans can do. Although I hope that all 12 of them really aren't here. That'd be too much, way too fast.
Rants and Raves
- Chapter cover! Natsu actually looked legit in that outfit on the cover. :D
- The Neptune Blade and Wind God's Sword. As I previously mentioned, epic weapons are just as cool as epic armors. I hope we get to see more of them! ^___^
- NO FLAME PANTS!!! Just armors baby! >:D Kudos to Mashima for bringing back the Erza I love.
- Ajeel's Sand World was beastly!!! Truly something god-like.
- I so called Ajeel going down first when he was first introduced. He was way too arrogant and Zancrow/Jackal like not to, lol.
- Bisca helping Erza defeat Ajeel!! ^___^
