THE KING OF UNCOOL AND THE HAMSTER MET UP IRL!!

As some of you may know, Ultra came down to Singapore! \( ^_^)/. And we had a super awesome time! \(^_^ )/

Hey everyone!

I hope you're all having a good day. I'd like to start this blog off by ruining your day and telling you this part is actually written by Ultra. Why? Well, as the title of this blog says, this is about Fi and I going to Anime Festival Asia, Singapore.

For those of you who didn't know, I recently visited Singapore and met up with Fi. We went to a lot of attractions like the Singapore Flyer, Marina Bay Sands, Universal Studios Singapore and of course, Anime Festival Asia.

It's a 3-day event filled with artists, cosplayers, shops, games, displays, musicians, fans and more. We went for two of the three days and met a lot of cosplayers, foreign visitors, comic artists, fan artists and fellow anime, manga and game fans.

I could type out the entire events that took place during my six day trip and all the things Fi and I did but instead, I present to you two videos detailing my time in Singapore and our trips to all the sites we visited, as well as Anime Festival Asia.

Videos[]

Special Shoutout[]

So for those who watched the videos, you guys will know that we met a Singaporean Youtuber who does covers, pretty cool guy.

If you're interested in finding out more, this is his Youtube channel. Out of his recent videos, I'm loving his cover of The Biggest Dream by Koji Wada, one of the songs for Digimon ( ^_^).

So go check Wyz out!

Ultra's Afterword[]

Without doubt, this was the best time I've ever had. A vacation in a place like Singapore, so efficient and clean, was exactly what I needed after nine and a half years in Hyderabad, India.

Wiki users don't often get the chance to meet, or online friends in general, really. In the entire history of our wiki, it's only happened about 2-3 times before this trip. Being a part of one of these momentous occasions was amazing. I never quite expected it to happen since I ordinarily don't even leave my house unless need be but I guess you never know what the future brings.

I wanna thank Fi for hosting me and showing me what Singapore has to offer. She's a really cool person and I hope we get to meet again one day.

Fi's Afterword[]

I'll be honest, I was really nervous and close to panicking when I thought: 1) I wouldn't reach the airport in time to pick Prime up, and 2) I couldn't find him. Thank goodness he appeared and actually that moment we pretty knew it was each other. Just to be safe, cause meeting online strangers in real life is ... not the best idea ^_^".

... then again I've met Carry and Kuro in person too... hmmm. ;D

Anyways, I am very thankful to Prime, for being very patient as a guest. This was my first time hosting an international friend in my country. He was really easy going, and was cool with anything tbh. So we didn't have to plan an itinerary.

As much as this is the first time Prime's been to Singapore, it was also my first time to go to some attractions in Singapore too! I've never been to Universal Studios Singapore and Gardens By The Bay before, so I think I was fairly excited kid. Thanks Prime for tolerating my jumpy-hamster-kid-mode. Okay, not so excited about taking rollercoaster rides ( _ _). Hey I didn't throw up so achievement unlocked \( ^_^)/.

... the Transformers ride was my first rollercoaster ride ever, like actual high speed-spinning-vomit inducing ride. The Tigger ride in Tokyo Disneyland doesn't count >_>.

This was also the first time I've been to the AFA!! My real life friends aren't into anime, and I'm always kinda shy or hesitant to go to events solo (except LoL Worlds 2014 Group Stage ^_^"), so to finally go to the AFA was eye-opening literally. ( O_O) At first I was a bit shy to ask cosplayers for permission to take their photos, but after a while, I think Prime's enthusiasm was contagious enough and I started asking cosplayers on my own. \( ^_^)/

I'm really thankful that Prime was understanding towards my sprained/strained/injured Achilles tendon, and often made sure I was well rested until I was ready to go again. And he was really nice to walk around and queue up with me in my search for Arpeggio of Blue Steel: Ars Nova merchandise! Awesome Prime is awesome!

All in all, it was great fun having Prime visit me in this tiny country, and I hope he had fun too ^_^. Next time if when he returns, I'll bring him on a food marathon to try out as much local cuisine as he can. Maybe he'll gain weight by then. XD
