This chapter was okay, not great, but not too terribly bad either. The chapter began with Wendy facing off against Zico. Mashima, not wanting us to forget the naked fanservice gift he gave last chapter, has Lucy captured, naked, by Zico. He taunts Wendy asking her if she can defeat him before he devours Lucy. Wendy confidently says she can and she, and Mira!!!!!!!!!!,
get ready for battle. Zico flies up and boasts of his flying abilities, and begins to torture Lucy (in a fanservice-esque manner). Mira says she ain't having none of that shit and starts to attack Zico. He boasts that it isn't going to work and then our lovely little Dragon Slayer lands a gorgeous sneak-attack on him. :D In case you guys haven't realized this by now, I can't stand Zico. He's fucking annoying. Zico tosses Lucy aside when he realizes that the battle isn't going like he thought it would. Happy goes to retrieve her, and Mira and Wendy stay to face Zico - both looking quite epic I might add.
Elsewhere, Natsu and Rogue continue their fight, and Rogue boasts of the seven year time gap between him and Natsu. Rogue, apparently, is not aware of Mashima's Nakama Power. Seven year time gaps have never stopped any of the main characters before. >_> In the midst of their battle, Lucy comes flying in naked, and some heavy Natsu x Lucy fanservice ensues. My favorite part of that little encounter was the look on Rogue's face. :D Anyhow, Natsu thinks up a strategy to beat Future Rogue and Motherglare - and Lucy towel slips.....and thus, she is naked.....again.
Meanwhile, my poor little Erza is still very fatigued from all of her earlier battles, and is having trouble with Motherglare's babies, and like I predicted, Jellal comes in to save the day.
And Yummy is so excited that she soils her granny panties. And just when I am about to tear into Mashima for including such a cliche scene, Millianna appears and the drama ensues!!!
I cannot WAIT to see what happens with this little mini-soap opera next chapter. Elsewhere, Natsu and Happy go to try their "ridiculous" strategy while Lucy puts some clothes on. Lucy sees her journal in a crate next to her, and realizes that it's her Future self's journal.
Mashima really made this chapter a lot less impressive with the constant fanservice. Now, don't get me wrong, all of the fanserive I read today is going to have a very special purpose later on tonight.
But Lucy should never have been naked for more than one panel. There's a time and place for naked women, and in the middle of a serious battle is not one of them. I was fine with the fanservice last chapter, but this chapter it was just extremely out of place. Well, it wasn't as out of place in the Natsu-Rogue battle, but it was definitely out of place in the Wendy-Mira-Zico battle.
