Treasure Hunters are individuals who hunt for hidden riches.

Overview[]

Treasure Hunters are those whose profession it is to seek out and find precious or rare items, which they refer to as "Treasure" that are potentially worth a fortune.[1] Treasure Hunters will explore various regions to seek out any rare items to complete their quest, from abandoned ruins,[2] dangerous environments to facing monsters most would not normally dare venture.[3] Some Hunters would go as far as to steal the rare items from the possession of others with little guilt or remorse. Treasure Hunters are sometimes also referred to as Grave Robbers.[4]

Unlike Mages, who place their guild marks on their bodies with a Magic stamp and similarly to the Mercenaries, some Treasure Hunting guild members shown sport their Guild's symbol on their outfits, either on the clothing itself or on specifically worn bands.[1]

Abilities[]

Similar to Mercenaries, most of the Treasure Hunters seen typically rely on their natural physical abilities than they do with Magic and thus rarely possess any internal magical power. Instead, they focus more on personal skills such as melee combat, marksmanship, swordsmanship, disguises, etc.[5]

Treasure Hunters also equipped themselves with various tools and items, be it magical or non-magical for various purposes, either for questing or personal use.[6][7] Almost each individual has a unique and personal, non-magical weapon of choice for offensive means, be it firearms, swords, hammers or chains.[1][8][9][10]

Guild Treasure Ranking[]

Treasure Hunting Guilds appear to have a system similar to that of Mage Guilds when it comes to ranking treasures, the more rare, valuable and potentially difficult to obtain the item is, the higher its ranking is. Such examples include the Eternal Flame protecting the Sun Village which was designated to be a "S-Class Super Treasure" by some members of the Sylph Labyrinth guild.[11]

The Tenrou Jade is also noted to be an S-Class rare item, which it alone to could be sold for enough money to live in luxury.[12][3]

Other notable items such as a Judgment Field is categorised as an A-Class treasure.[13]
