So yeah. Naruhodo didn't translate this spell name because he thinks it can't be localised. But since you've already got translated names for every spell without furigana, this looks incredibly out of place. I posted this on Jakuho's blog post, so I'll just repost my translations here you guys can toss around your opinions.

丑の刻参り = Ushi no Koku Mairi
Literal translation: Ox-hour Pilgrimage
(Loose but) popular translation (by Touhou): Midnight Anathema Ritual
Localisation: Ox-hour Voodoo

Wait what. You guys brokered a deal with MS or something to only use molokidan's and naruhodo's translations or something? As far as I know, you guys went off translating Meldy's name on your own, so that can't be the case. LionsLight 14:40, March 23, 2011 (UTC)

Firstly, no there is no deal with mangastream. ChaosKnight simply chose to wait until they translated the name of Ushi no Koku Mairi before we placed it until the articles. Iam...JakuhoRaikoben 21:25, March 24, 2011 (UTC)

丑の刻参り roughly means "Visit at the Ox's Hour" according to my translation skills (I use Tangorin Dictionary). Maybe it will help somehow in this whole translation issue. :) DarkblueFlow (talk) 19:16, February 5, 2013 (UTC)

There's an entry on the Japanese Wikipedia that said, by what I understood with my poor Japanese, that Ushi no Koku Mairi is when you got to the temple at the ox's hour (1am to 3am) and stick parts of your hair or cloths and such onto a doll and hang it on the "Shinboku" (a kind of tree where such offerings are hung on). Mr. Cursey or Nooro-san.

Recently two of our users who speak japanese(LionsLight and JapaneseOPfan) have stated that Mr. Cursey's name was a mistranslation by Naruhodo of Mangastream and that his name should really be Nooro-san. The image to the right is the pic of a raw I was provided by LionsLight. So this discussion is to decide if it was a mistranslation and if it should be changed to Nooro-san or stay as Mr. Cursey. For reference, he did indeed mistranslate that panel, but Nooro-san's name is instead an issue of localisation by naruhodo himself. In a hypothetical case, this is the same thing if a translator chooses to translate Natsu's name as Summer. I personally think MS's tl has been unreliable ever since they lost molokidan, but I'm digressing. LionsLight 07:40, March 29, 2011 (UTC)

So people are finally noticing that the Japanese name for the doll is Nōro-san. I can probably understand why he chose that nickname for the scanslation as "Nōro" is a phonic change of "Curse" in Japanese (呪う Norō). As for which name I would choose, well, not once did I call it by that stream's translation, including the names of the images I uploaded. I think you kinda missed the entire point of my post, i'm not arguing that it's Mr. Cursey, i'm saying that since it's Nooro-san then my vote is for changing it to Nooro-san and not leaving it as Mr. Cursey. Iam...JakuhoRaikoben 01:55, March 30, 2011 (UTC)

Hmmm... well, I don't care whichever it is since this is an ENGLISH WIKI so why not have translations? On the other hand, I don't like the fact that the name was changed, plus the name isn't necessarily an exact translation. "Nooro-san" is part of the word curse, or "Noroi/Norou" with the "-san" added to it, so if it were to be translated, it would actually be sort of like "Mr. Cuurrr" or something, which sounds plain strange. (probably why the translators played around with the name a little). Well in other words, calling the doll "Mr. Cursey" is basically like changing Natsu to "Summer". Magic and Abilities or equipment

I know that this item is said to be a lost magic because the Seven Kins of Purgatory uses only Lost Magics, but should this be considered as an equipment that comes with magical abilities? Like all of the Requip armors and weapons?

Because I thought Magic is something that someone has to learn in order to use them; not just an item that can be used freely by anyone. What I'm trying to say is should we consider this similar to Requip? Like Bisca's weapons and Erza's armors; those attacks that derived from those are solely from the weapons and armors, not directly from the person using it.
