Technically, all playable characters in Portable Guild 1 were able to use Unison Raid so it isn't limited to just Lucy and Juvia. LionsLight 04:12, March 29, 2011 (UTC)

The games use character abilities lifted straight from the series. The ability to use Unison Raid was the only major change they made in the PSP game. Anyway, so just ignore the existence of the games? LionsLight 07:39, March 29, 2011 (UTC)
The games usually uses character abilities straight from the series. In this case they added a whole new ability. You don't have to ignore the game, but the game is completely sepereate from the anime and manga. I kind of like how they actually pulled it out again for the filler, and Gray and Juvia are the perfect choice for it. Now that I think about it, it actually seems kind of odd that Lucy and Juvia could pull it off so well considering Lucy doesn't specialize in water magic; She was just using a water spirit out of a whole mess of different powers her spirits use. Maybe stellar spirit mages are just naturally inclined to use teamwork magic well though since obviously their own spells are all based on it, and that pegasus kid was able to combine powers with her to great effect. No, Unison Raid is stated to be a combination of two users Magic abilities, and as thus, an ability that is usable by everyone. In addition, monks have tried to use the ability as well so it's not distinct to Lucy. Iam...JakuhōRaikōben 14:38,7/30/2011
are we just going to ignore the triple unison explosion that happened in episode 118 of the original Fairy Tail anime? (chapter 236 ish??) Cana and Levy relayed their magic to Lisanna and Lisanna struck Kain Hikaru with their magic and in the anime (and the manga?) it was dubbed as "Triple Unison Explosion." does that not count as a unison raid? --76.217.190.167 02:24, May 13, 2016 (UTC)

There's no need to have doubts. Hades called it a Unison Raid and the Triple Unison was anime-only and as such is non-canon. Also, where was the pose defined as an actual necessity?

i just curious, what is the difference between unison raid and combined spell? because i think the dragon slayers combined spell like Fire, Iron and Sky Dragon's Roar or Dragon's Blade Edge is a unison raid, or no?

Well, this isn't really the place for curiosities. You can take that to the Fairy Tail Answers Wiki. Unison Raid has never really been explained in depth.
In general, I'd say that a combined attack is 1 + 1 = 2 while Unison Raid is 1 + 1 = 3. I hope you can get what I mean and note it's just my thoughts. Unison Raid is kind of a synergy thing. Also, no, the attacks you mentioned are not Unison Raid attacks. Hope that helps.

I was just rewatching a few Fairy Tail episodes and I remember someone states during the Grand Magic games that Unison Raid is a type of 'Unity Magic' so I'm not sure if it's an uncategorized spell anymore. RyuujiFlame →Shoot Command 07 11:24, April 17, 2014 (UTC)

Any two mages can perform a Unison Raid right? So why not put only Mages in the infobox, user, instead of Gray, Juvia, Wendy, Lucy, etc.? The latter sounds like as if the only ones who can perform a unison raid are Gray, Juvia, Wendy, Lucy, etc., which is false, for any two Mages can perform a Unison Raid. We put those people in the infobox cause they're the only known users. Only those in the infobox currently are known to have used it. In theory, Lucy could use Requip if she learned it, but though that's true, we wouldn't add her to the box, would we? Most Mages will have the ability to learn another form of Magic but till we see it, we can't put them in the infobox as a user. King of Uncool 08:05,6/21/2014

So I've been thinking, and I've read the chapter in which this info appears a couple times, and nothing about this screams "spell". If anything, Unison Raid is a hard-to-obtain ability. It makes no sense to have a spell that creates other spells. Unison Raid should be an ability that combines two types of magic together to create one new spell, not have it be what it is listed as being here. Thoughts?

Wendy and Lucy AND Natsu?[]
im not arguing it was unison raid, i mean hades stated it was too, but shouldnt natsu be included seeing as it was combined with his sword horn i think when he went at hades,as he was propeeled even faster by it, or was it a seperate unison raid that just happened to be used to boost natsu's attack? Can we put in the respective infoboxes the mage with which they performed a unison raid with, like in brackets eg in gray's it could be like 'Unison Raid (with Juvia Lockser)', just because unison raid in itself is just the combination of any two magics and not a specific spell as such Hewy (: (talk) 21:20, September 13, 2015 (UTC)

Unison Raid[]
Ok I've got 2 questions. 1. Should we give names for the unison raid ability that has yet got one? Since Shotgun, and Rogue+Sting one also has a name and a separate page to their own.
2. For Wendy+Lucy Unison Raid, would it be better if it was Wendy+Scorpio instead? This one I am very unsure of since it isn't Lucy that used it. This falls similar to Lucy+Juvia spell, but you can see Lucy and Juvia was holding hands when that triggered so it would be using Aquarius as part of it, so is Aquarius part of Unison Raid?

Wendy and Sherria unison raid[]
In final season episode 2, Because of love,didn't Wendy and Sherria do 2 unison raids? I believe the first one was when happy and carla dropped them, and the guys asked who the girls were, and they yelled, "Sky sister's attack!" Then the second one was when they combined their breath attacks, when sliding back. They had yelled, "Sky dragon and sky god roar! Howl!"
So I am wondering if these 2 are unison raids or not.

It was never mentioned as a unison raid by the official manga and anime at best they are just attacking at the same time. LightningGeist
