Okay, so as per Mapa's talk page, Requip and the other Magics weren't specifically said to be Spatial Magic, they were generally said to be space-based Magic. As such, I really think we should return this page to how it was originally (a specific Magic type used only by Marin Hollow) and remove its listing as a parent Magic to Requip, Celestial Spirit Magic, Territory, and Teleportation Magic. Thoughts? :P Iam...    JakuhōRaikōben00:23,7/2/2015

  1. Support Support - Doesn't sound like Spatial magic is a category-- God · Pray · 00:24,7/2/2015

Agreed. The magics are based on space but are not part of Spatial Magic. I mean what kind of Magic hinders users using a Magic branched on it? That's like saying Molding Magic can make disappear users of Ice-Make. Makes no sense imo. :P Relikz TalkUser Talk 00:26, July 2, 2015 (UTC)

Okay, given what all Mapa said on its talk page, and the fact that it just had to change the kanji which was apparently not correct at all, I'm reverting the pages back to their original states before they were changed because if the information is indeed inaccurate, which seems to be the case, we don't want to have that information on our pages for days while this discussion continues. Now, this discussion can be used to determine if we need to actually change Spatial Magic to the parent magic of the other Magics or not. And like I, Reli, and Flipsy have already said above, I do not believe it is the parent Magic. Iam...    JakuhōRaikōben03:54,7/2/2015

That's all fine, but it's entirely clear Marin also uses Teleportation Magic, because the description that was written involves the word teleport. If Marin is blatantly teleporting everywhere then he uses Teleportation Magic. It isn't like Minerva's, it's exactly like how Mest does it.
WrathYou...wanna talk.Zero 04:55, July 2, 2015 (UTC)

The only thing is that all the while he was teleporting, he was bragging about his Space Magic and manipulation of space, which makes me believe that the teleportation stems from his Magic. Iam...    JakuhōRaikōben05:00,7/2/2015

If I may add my two sense into this, the translation I read had them say that both Erza's Magic and Lucy's magic was "space-like". I'm assuming he means that they're magic that manipulate space but not part of the parent magic. The only thing that actually is would be Mest's Teleportation Magic, in which he actually states IS Space Magic. He goes off even in a tangent in anger, stating that Space Magic shouldn't be used by "uncouth neanderthals".JayAaerow (talk) 08:02, July 2, 2015 (UTC)

Marin's Magic

so after seeing something in the chat brought up by wrath after the wiki got Jacob's magic figured out, I'm starting to think that Marin's magic is also a variation of space magic too... hear me out: the kanji that is in bold (空間の掟) is kukan or in English it means "space". Marin in 442: "Just one more tidbit, those who have been defeated by my "Rules of the Area" (空間の掟0 Kūkan no Okite) get banished in a dimension blah blah.." notice how Rules of the Area translates too, if it was in regular Japanese it would be: Chiiki no Rūru which basically means "Law of Space, or Rules of the Area" which isn't what it's translated as. So basically where I'm getting at is that I think when Marin was talking about his magic, he described it as "Spatial Magic" but calling his "Rules of the Area" which is the name of his Magic, same way how Jura described God Serena's Cavern Dragon Slayer Magic as Earth Dragon Slayer Magic but that wasn't its actual name, just its type. Surprised to see we didn't peep this, but usually when engrish is used with Hiro it means something more than usual, this time it's meaning the name of Marin's magic. What I'm proposing is to keep the Spatial Magic page, but name Marin's magic as "Rules of the Area" as a variation, similar to how Jacob's is a variation. Spatial Magic is flat out being able to control the properties of space, but Marin's specific type of space magic lets him cancel out magics like Erza's and Lucy's so the Spatial Magic's page description will be adjusted too... wanna hear people's thoughts NcduruRavens wallpaper (2) 19:00, March 20, 2016 (UTC)

I think this last chapter really hit it home that my theory has been correct all along. Marin uses two magics: Teleportation Magic and Rules of the Area, and Spatial Magic is just a broad category for different types of magic that manipulate space, such as Rules of the Area, Teleportation Magic, Celestial Spirit Magic, Requip, Territory, etc. etc. I mean, look at what the description for Spatial Magic says, and look at Jacob's Stealth, which is a type of Spatial Magic. A variation generally has similarities to the parent, but with this we see...none of that. The description for Spatial Magic has it as the user can teleport (Teleportation Magic, seriously, guys...) and they have the "rules of the area", but as we learned, Jacob doesn't warp people, he just erases their presence, and that applies to living and non-living things as well.

Tl;dr: Spatial Magic is a broad category for different types of magic, Marin uses Rules of the Area and Teleportation Magic as separate types of Spatial Magic.

Yeah I agree, if we're supporting I Support Support - that Marin uses the two types of magics: Teleportation Magic & Rules of the Area. Teleporation magic I think you can argue it could since when he was teleporting around like Mest he described it as spatial magic, so I would Support Support - listing that under Spatial Magic, but I still agree with the above discussion that Requip, CS magic shouldn't be labeled under Spatial Magic, that they are magics that simply uses space-like properties to function. Sounds weird but that's what I really believe, makes more sense for them not to be under imo NcduruRavens wallpaper (2) 19:18, March 20, 2016 (UTC)

That discussion above was under the assumption that Spatial Magic was its own thing, but the fact of the matter is that Rules of the Area prevents any kind of Spatial Magic (or space-like, whatever) other than Marin's own from being used. The fact that Erza couldn't Requip and then earlier, she and Lucy were penalized for using their magic makes it clear that they are Spatial Magic, and were simply described as being space-like for that particular instance. If Rules of the Area prevents "space-like" magic from being used, and Marin is a Spatial Magic specialist, then logic dictates that they also fall under that category as well...
WrathYou...wanna talk.Zero 20:14, March 20, 2016 (UTC)

Rereading it the chapter again, Marin kept referring to Erza and Lucy's magic as "space-like magic" I would love to see if crunchy's translation matches up with this cause I would lean towards agreeing with you, so that would mean there would be this page for spatial magic and also a subcategory? Listing a space-like magic like The Knight would go under Requip and Spatial Magic? I wouldn't mind this, want more opinions on this though NcduruRavens wallpaper (2) 21:01, March 20, 2016 (UTC)

I would agree with the above listing. Just like how "Stealth" was named for Jacob, I felt the "Law of Space" titling for Marin'a debut spoke about his capability in Magic. I also agree with perhaps labeling Requip & Celestial Spirit Magic is Spatial Magic or at least acknowledge some relation to them because it's very much true there's a connection.JayAaerow (talk)

I think Eye Magic's page would be a good layout to follow if this passes when reorganizing Spatial Magic's page, but listing spatial magic then whatever the specific type of variation on the specific user pages' infoboxes aren't needed imo, different situation NcduruRavens wallpaper (2) 00:50, March 21, 2016 (UTC)
I second N's suggestion for using Eye Magic's page as a skeleton/template for a page on Spatial Magic. Derax PaganiSend me a message 12:20, March 21, 2016 (UTC)

I am also in the mindset that Marin has two magics, and his rules of the area should be a variation, as well as spatial magic should be a page and a subcategory so count me in :p.. requip and celestial magic we should have more opinions on that but as of now I think it would it be would ok to list them as spatial magic 73.191.17.103 14:56, March 21, 2016 (UTC)

I guess that makes that since the majority of everyone here agrees. So..who's going to actually put up the change? I'll be more then happy to be bold and do so myself. JayAaerow (talk)

It's gotta be open for longer than 24 hours. More like 48-72, preferably with more people than this chiming in. And anons don't actually even count towards the tally, so what they say is fundamentally irrelevant in the decision.
WrathYou...wanna talk.Zero 21:49, March 21, 2016 (UTC)

Huh. I was not paying attention there. (._. ) My bad. JayAaerow (talk)
It's all g, dude. Odds are this will all be taken care of as I have it laid out.
