Changing the name of the magic[]

want to change the name of the page from Element Maker Magic to Maker Magic but thought i'll ask other users opinions before i do so. Now why do i want to change the name simply because i beleive it was assumed that the magic is called Element Maker Magic as gray, leon, ur, ultear use ice make and laki uses wood make so it was assumed that the magic revolved around the elements. But with Rufus' magic revealed to also be Maker Magic I dont think the magic revolves around the elements as memory is not a element...anyway thought i should start this talk topic would like to hear other users thoughts Zedz 18:09, 2/10/2012

Agree just read the chapter again and on page 13 Erza refers to it as Creation Magic then on page 18 Gray also refers to the magic as Creation Magic so i guess thats its actual name Zedz 18:21, 2/10/2012

Wait up guys. Remember that the names we use are usually given by Mashima himself, and that our Japanese specialist ChaosKnight is the one handling kanji, romaji and translated names. If "Element Maker Magic" is what he came up with, then that must be the correct translation. Besides, since this is a manga, who says "memory" can't be an element?

The only thing I ever remember calling this is "Maker Magic". I don't know where the "Elemental" part came from. Even then, it's still not fully correct because the literal translation is "Molding/Shaping Magic". Creation magic should be "創造魔法"(Sōzō Mahō), not "造形魔法" (Zōkē Mahō). More importantly, how many times had I said to NOT trust that stream site's translation, especially Naruhodo's translation?!

As Chaos said, never rename our pages from Mangastream's or any other online streaming sites translations. We consult him whenever the raw comes, since he's our translator. Though he has brought up an interesting topic for discussion. Element Maker Magic is inaccurate and so it's going to go. The question is, what do we rename it to? So.... why hasnt anyone changed the magics name yet? shouldnt 'we' try to make this wiki as accurate as possible if so then wouldnt it be better to change it to molding magic asap or has a new page been created for it that im unaware of Zedz 22:22, Feb 11, 2012

I really don't understand molding magic[]

So molding magic is when you create objects out of an element? so what's the difference between ice-make and regular ice magic? Is Ice magic simply you can't create shapes out of it?--AsianInvasion711 (talk) 03:20, April 9, 2014 (UTC)

Molding Magic is a general Magic that comes in different forms, such as Ice-Make and Wood-Make, in the same way that Dragon Slayer Magic has different forms, such as Fire Dragon Slayer Magic and Sky Dragon Slayer Magic. This does not mean that all spells that create objects from elements are Molding Magic, the same way that spells related to fire are not necessarily Fire Dragon Slayer Magic. 04:12, April 9, 2014 (UTC)
