I think she's shown some skills in close combat during Naval battle when she teleported Lucy in front of her attack in order to kick her. What is you opinion about this? User:Domynyk 19:38, Aug 18, 2012, (UTC)

Immense Magic Power

With the latest chapter released, I think we should add this ability to her and to Kagura. Being the strongest mage of Sabertooth surpassing the 2 Dragon Slayers will easily put her into a title S-Class which will normally require vast magic power. Also when she performed the Yagdo Rigora (?) spell, it looks like she destroyed almost 3/16 of the city without noticeable pant or slouch that can be seen from her body. Anybody agrees? —This unsigned comment was made by 124.107.103.53 (talkcontribs) .

Speculation. She was never stated to be the strongest, just stronger than Sting and Rogue. She has never been stated to be S-Class. The size of the destruction when compared to the entire city is unknown. RelikzTalk PageTalk 18:33, December 21, 2012 (UTC)

Okay I'll forfeit the S-Class thingy but. It is stated in Chapter 312 she's the strongest with her father defeated which can be seen on the previous chapters:"We don't need loserd according to your logic" whuch in turn Sting became a candidate. Lalalalala. wll that gives justice that she's the strongest, right? And as for the magic power, a mage will require vast power to injure 2 S-Class mages with that one hit blow.

Minerva doesn't have a main quotes yet. So, I would like to propose a few quotes for her.

  • To Erza Scarlet at chapter 292.
"You should be thanking me that I made her second place. That useless piece of trash girl."
  • To Jiemma at chapter 307.
"Shut your mouth. Losers have no say. Have the decency to obey your own rules."
  • To Sting Eucliffe at chapter 307.
"This apple may have fallen far from the tree. But I do agree with his stance that Sabertooth be viewed as the best guild."
  • To Sting Eucliffe at chapter 307.
"Show everyone the new power you've wrought, and with it the victory we so rightly deserve. I advise you not to cross me. Remember that Lector's life rests in my hands."

Magic name

I know that at this point we don't have anything solid regarding her magic name, neither how it works precisely, but I don't think that calling it "Yakuma Magic" is the best option

By seeing here http://mangastream.com/read/fairy_tail/83389009/16 (correct me if there is any mistranslation), Mavis mention "Yakuma's spell of the Eighteen Combat Gods". Well, judging by the use of a possessive, it can be implied that the magic is actually called "Eighteen Combat Gods" and was used by a famous individual called "Yakuma", probably someone from Mavis' time as a living person. It's also interesting that the entity summoned represents well a "battle god". I also saw it being called Eighteen Gods of Battle on other translations, so Chaos can come with a proper translation to use here.

Before anyone says that this is just speculation, calling it "Yakuma magic" also is, because this is just a different interpretation from Mavis' words. What I am proposing is a more reasonable interpretation, while we don't have precise information. We don't know when we will have more information, considering that the story may change its focus to Future Lucy's knowledge on next chapter.

Tell me what you guys think, thanks for the attention. Martios (talk) 21:26, January 2, 2013 (UTC)

Hmmm... About this Yakuma case... Sanni Yakuma is a form of exorcism that includes 18 different dances to call one of the 18 demons and help the patient in some disease. It is based on a Buddhism but comes from Sri Lanka not Japan.

Still In my opinion, we should wait for a proper translation, Chaos would be a good source of it, but I'm not sure it has a time for it. Ishthak Heart kreuz says   22:51, January 2, 2013 (UTC)

This has nothing to do with translation. "Yakuma" was written in Katakana so there isn't any other possible translation for the name. The "Eighteen God's of Battle" part may be wrongly translated but that doesn't change the reason of the discussion RelikzTalk PageTalk 23:43, January 2, 2013 (UTC)
You didn't understand me Reli - I'm not waiting for Yakuma translation I already know it, I wanna wait for someone who will put Yakuma and "18 Gods" together or separate - is this a full name as Martios mention below or this is a only a name of one spell and the magic name is "18 Combat Gods" -_-'. Ishthak Heart kreuz says   14:25, January 3, 2013 (UTC)
Interesting, there is also a possibility that the magic name could be the whole sentence: "Yakuma's Magic of the Eighteen Combat Gods", though this would be long and weird. Martios (talk) 00:53, January 3, 2013 (UTC)

We haven't really make the Magic page because there has been no official or sensible name yet.. That name is probably so that it would be a lot easier to mention in a discussion rather than saying Minerva's Magic. -_- Dragon-Tribal-Tattoo-6TalktoDdraig22:56,1/2/2013

Both options aren't official, but I'm proposing a more reasonable temporary one. Because calling it "Yakuma's Magic" seems odd to me. Martios (talk) 00:53, January 3, 2013 (UTC)

I would just keep it as Yakuma Magic for now, like Ishy and Ddraig said, it's easier to mention. Plus, the next chapter is like a few days away, so I'm sure we will get more info
.:Umy:.Talk to me! 09:25, January 3, 2013 (UTC)

I don't think it is Yakuma Magic either. Yakuma is the name of the one who developed it(or was just said to make it seem more badass, like the random chanting during Urano Metria). The most appropriate name is probably dimension magic (trapping Lector in another dimension, summong gods from other dimensions). However, there are no other good options unless we get a 100% valid translation of the spell Minerva used, or the nature of Minerva's magic is confirmed in the manga, so I suggest leaving it like this for now. RavenMestSting Anime Square(S)talk20:31,1/3/2013

Well, since Minerva ran away, it will take some chapters until we can see her Magic in action again, unless she decides to battle someone else meanwhile. Martios (talk) 15:35, January 4, 2013 (UTC)

Ok so here is the correct translation from Chaos

Yakuma's 18 Battle/Combat/Fighting God Magic. Take your pick between the three. Personally, I'd call them War God even though it's much less common to see 闘 translated as war.

Full name would be Yakuma's 18 War God Magic, and like Hades, it's probably only one of Minerva's magic... ChaosKnight 20:15, January 4, 2013 (UTC)

Are you sure that the whole thing is the full name? Because it sounds to me like "Yakuma" is the name of a person who used it before since it's in katakana and the 18 War God Magic part is the actual name. RelikzTalk PageTalk 20:51, January 4, 2013 (UTC)
Not necessarily, imo. "Yakuma" can be the place, or even the religion from where the 18 Gods came from. I Support Support - War God Magic, seems the most correct one. Herme 00:45,1/13/2013

Support War God Magic - I'm still very confused as to what to name her Magic, since all of the spells we have seen from her have a wide range of effects, and it seems Chaos' translation is the best we can get from it, plus Chao's own preference towards War God Magic would incline me to support it. Quote, again...

Okay... so I finally had time to go through some of the raws that I have in possession (Finally!!!) , and the quote Minerva has on the top is a pretty bad mistranslation... What it really said based on the raw should be:

  • You're better off staying quiet. Based on your logic, we don't need losers, right?

In short, we have to either change the quote to this one, or find another quote that fits her character. Which one do you guy suggest? ChaosKnight 03:41, January 13, 2013 (UTC)

I think it should be changed as it doesn't portray her bitchyness. I propose:

Try and desperately claw your way back up to the top of the food chain. I'll make sure your delusions of grandeur end here.

—Minerva, Threesomes

RelikzTalk PageTalk 04:34, January 13, 2013 (UTC)

I never liked the one we had up either, though I'm not hung on that one Leli because it's very context-based, if you get what I mean... I think something like

Pulling the strings and making others move to your whim... That is what defines a King.

—Minerva, Champion's Scenario

is a little more broad and applies more to her view of the world and herself. But that's just my opinion :/ I don't really care any way though ( .__.)

I'll be getting the raw of Chapter 313 soon. I'll take a look if there's more mistranslations before we vote for anything. ChaosKnight 04:50, January 13, 2013 (UTC)

Okay, the one proposed by Reli's goes like this:
  • In order to prove my guild is the strongest, I shall show them by taking care of people like yourselves all at once.
And the one proposed by Carrot goes like:
  • Moving the pieces according to your strategy... that is what a king is.

ChaosKnight 05:39, January 13, 2013 (UTC)

Ok the correct translation of mine doesn't sound as good now. I vote for Carrot's RelikzTalk PageTalk 14:51, January 13, 2013 (UTC)

As we could see in the latest chapter, Minerva caused damage on Milliana. I mean she's scratched her to that point where Milliana became incapacitated. Therefore, I think we should add that Minerva's magic has some cutting properties. However, it can also happened she harmed her with a sword, but I don't really think so, since Milliana was in Minerva's dimension, thus she couldn't escape. User:Domynyk 20.34, Jan 26, 2013, (UTC)

Since we didn't see how exactly Millianna got these injuries, I believe that claiming that it was done by Minerva's magic would be a speculation and thus it shouldn't be allowed to be put in the article. Correct me if I'm wrong. Miskos3 Message 19:39, January 26, 2013 (UTC)

You're not wrong, Miskos. Since we don't know how the injuries were inflicted, we can't say that it was Minerva's Magic. For all we know, she had a knife with which she did it. Until we are told in some manner, adding that Minerva's Magic has cutting properties would be speculation.

Inferior to Orga?

In the Magic & Abilities section it says that Minerva is inferior to Orga in terms of magical power. How can that be?? she was stated to be the strongest in Sabertooth by Rufus in chapter 312. How can she be stronger than Orga if she is weaker than him in terms of magical power? Orga scored 3,825 in MPF. So does that mean she would get a lower score if she was participating instead? ---- User Talk: Lidor 14:21, February 6, 2013 (UTC)

Rufus did say she was Sabertooth's strongest but when it comes to being the strongest, there's more to it than just Magical power. Frosch and Lector both said that when it came to power, Orga was at the top. It's entirely possible for Orga to be stronger in terms of Magical power but for Minerva to still be the strongest Mage of the guild, especially when you take into account other factors that make a person "strong". Minervas Magic Language

As of the newest chapter, I'm confused on whether Ih Ragras, Lo Houseto and Lo Housetia are even considered spells now. Tbh, they seem like some sort of gibberish language that relates to her magic. --FTB UltearM (talk) 10:20, March 8, 2013 (UTC)

Does that mean we should remove Ih Ragras from her magic? --FTB UltearM (talk) 02:14, March 9, 2013 (UTC)

I wouldn't take away Ih Ralgas from her page. It also starts with "Ih" like her other spell, Ih Ragdo. Additionally, in the raw, Ih Ralgas isn't written in English like her incantations, but rather, in katakana, like her other War God Magic Spells. Just to show, here's the raw for Ih Ralgas, and here's the raw for her incantations.

So, with that new Lo Houseto and Lo Housetia, if these two aren't spells, then what the heck is that supposed to mean? I won't believe that these are her expression, or it's a variety of alien language she's saying to call for back up, in hopes to aid her in defeating Erza in battle. Do you get my point?
