Why was some of the trivia removed? The part about him being similar to that guy from Rave Master was pretty good trivia so why remove it? Nnoitrafan 08:50, February 19, 2011 (UTC)

S-Class?[]

Hey. It just crossed my mind and I want to see what you guys think, but is Laxus still considered S-Class after his excommunication? Like, just because he came back does he automatically resume the title S-Class? Maybe it was brought up somewhere and I missed it...or is this just something that is never explained/hasn't been explained yet...?? If not, it probably shouldn't be on his page...

☆°・*CarrotSays...*・°☆ 08:38, March 5, 2012 (UTC)

There hasn't been any explanation to it yet but his power is definitely S-Class or higher Also, I believe that someone would poke you in both eyes if you take the info of his page. xD Wanna Talk? 08:46, March 5, 2012 (UTC)

Kyahahahaha. Yeah, I know he definitely has the skill and power to be S-Class, but I just thought of it whilst thinking about how Juvia and Gajeel were demoted when they joined Fairy Tail. Oh well, I don't really care one way or another, and I don't really want to have to go up against that scary Laxus fangirlboy XD

I wonder whether the fact that Chico C Hammitt has a secret crush on Laxus whould be in the trivia or not, since it's in Chico's trivia section. Marco the Marine Admiral 03:56, June 11, 2012 (UTC)

I think so yes RelikzTalk PageTalk 04:00, June 11, 2012 (UTC)

So should the line "According to the bonus guild card in Manga Vol. 21, guild member Chico C Hammitt has a secret crush on Laxus." be added in the trivia section? I hope somebody could help me with this, since I'm not sure how to add a reference. Marco the Marine Admiral 05:42, June 11, 2012 (UTC)

Actually, I don't think that's appropriate. Chico has the crush not Laxus. It would be like me writing on Plue's page that Mirajane thinks he's the strongest spirit.   Rai  Talk     06:11,6/11/2012

@Rauleli, doesn't matter whether Mashima gave it to us or not. It has more to do with Chico than Laxus. @Uzumaki Natsu, Bj is right. S-Class rank?[]

This discussion is closed.

ok even though carrot said that above should we really still consider him an S-class mage since he was never really proven to still be one.Ophiuchus requested by AnimaAnimaltamer7Ophiuchus

I mean, I guess he still is. Mirajane kind of went through the same thing, since she was an S-class mage but then lost her abilities to fight and wasn't really referenced as one anymore. However, Mira was not excommunicated and Laxus was, so I'm not sure how much credibility my example gives. This is kind of a first case scenario we have here, and I don't think Hiro intends on removing that jurisdiction from Laxus, so I'd say he's still an S-Class. :Umnei:Talk to me!

When reintegrating Laxus once again to the Guild, Gildarts didn't mention that he'd continue with his S-Class status, only that he'd be acknowledged as member. Thus, I think it's a bit of a speculation to state he's still S-Class as well. Herme 23:29,10/25/2012

I think it is a speculation to say that Laxus is S-Class as well. He was different from Mirajane-he was excommunicated, not just went out of service. When he returned, nothing about him getting back his status was mentioned, so I think he is an ordinary Mage now. FairyRavenMest19:28,11/22/2012

Thunder God Tribe[]

Hey guys, I just re-read the chapters to find whether Laxus an S-class or not... Then I, on chap. 259 when Laxus was re-acknowledged, I read Evergreen said something like "Now then, we are Thunder God Tribe again" while holding Laxus. Does this mean that Laxus is part of Thunder God Tribe?? Messithemesser (talk) 19:43, November 22, 2012 (UTC)

Hey, in that reference, on th relationships section, it says "Fairy Tail Manga: Chapter 128, Pages 22-" So I don't know if it is meant to be a one page reference but were added an extra letter "s" on the pages and a dash after the number, or it is really lacking a page. I tried searching for it in hopes of supplementing the page (if ever it is really missing something), but this is where I end up, so it puzzles me. So.. Yeah, IDK what to do. Laxus dragon slayer magic isn`t lightning[]

laxus isn`t a lightning dragon slayer he`s a thunder dragon slayer so fix that because it`s wrong and there is a huge diffrence bettwen lightning and thunder! —This unsigned comment was made by 89.139.187.159 (talkcontribs) on 16:05, November 20, 2013.

It is Lightning Dragon Slayer Magic. Lightning is in the name of his attacks when he uses it (Rairyū) and his basic Magic is Lightning Magic. King of Uncool 16:08,11/20/2013

Yes there is a huge difference in thunder and lightning. The difference is that the former is the wrong and the latter the correct translation. NoNickNeeded (talk) 16:50, November 20, 2013 (UTC)

Status?[]

Shouldn't Laxus' status be Incapacitated rather than Active, considering his situation? That and the others that were affected, the Thunder God Tribe & Yajima. The Ground His Armored Goddess Walks Upon (Welcome To The End!) 15:03, March 18, 2014 (UTC)

Incapacitated isn't a status we use. We use "Active", which roughly means they're alive, "Deceased", which speaks for itself, and "Unknown" which is used in case we aren't sure if they are dead or alive, usually used as a healthy medium in disputes involving the two aforementioned statuses.

Roaring Thunder against Ivan Dreyar...?[]

When Laxus defeats Alexei/Ivan on the third day of the Grand Magic Games, does he use his Dragon Slayer's Secret Art: Roaring Thunder OR was it just lightning enhanced punch or Lightning Dragon's: Iron Fist or something...? —This unsigned comment was made by 59.92.143.44 (talkcontribs) on 12:04, April 21, 2014.

Laxus used Titan?[]

I just made an account to post this, sorry if I get anything wrong. So, in episode 47 of the anime, Laxus grew in the way Makarov does. Does this count as him knowing how to use Titan, and if so, shouldn't it be added to Laxus' magic subsection and the Titan info box? I haven't read the manga though, so if he doesn't grow in the manga and it is not canon, sorry. Phoxorde (talk) 18:53, July 23, 2014 (UTC)

Well, welcome to the wiki community ^_^. Anyway, while Laxus did grow somewhat (both in the manga and anime, but to a much larger degree in the anime), there is nothing to support the fact that it is Titan Magic. Some argue it may be Dragon Force, but nothing has been verified and therefore remains speculation. As speculation is not allowed, we can not present Laxus as a user.~The Wallflower~Wendynan20:28,7/23/2014

Well, he does clearly get larger when he uses Dragon Force in episode 47. Even without knowing the cause (Dragon Force or Titan), it seems like it should still be noted somewhere. - SW 06:48, May 31, 2015 (UTC)

We can't mention that because it's non-canon. In the manga, what happened was his shirt came off and it just revealed how muscular he was. If there is a discrepancy between the manga and anime, the manga takes precedence.

Sound Pod needs change?[]

"Laxus is almost always seen wearing his signature "Sound Pod" model of Magic Headphones"

This has not seemed to hold true for he last few episodes, seems like it should be removed or changed.

The Dude (talk) 01:56, July 26, 2014 (UTC)

no need, it doesnt take up a lot of space and if we use that logic, then we should remove levy and lucy's Gale-Force Reading Glasses, the same with the light pen used by reedus, levy and mirajane, x-balls, and all the items that were used by all the fairy tail characters since we dont see them being used often. if they were to use them a lot then you would see lucy with glasses all the time, laxus and mirajane with headphones fighting tempesta or sayla which i dont see the need for them to use it all the time. its enough to include those items since they are the people known to have used them in the whole series. Physical Strength[]

Shouldn't Laxus have Immense Strength instead of Enhanced Strength? Natsu, BSS Mira and even Taurus and Arcadios already have Immense Strength and Laxus is physically stronger than all of them. He was going blow for blow with Jura (who also has Immense Strength), and ragdolled Natsu around without even using his lightning. He was even able to hurt Hades with his lightning coated attacks as well.

User: LaxusDreyar19:36,6/29/2015 19:36, June 29, 2015 (UTC)

Laxus does have Immense Strength. The problem is we don't list feats for characters until they show them, and the feats you listed aren't really things that we use to determine physical strength level. Fighting someone with Immense Strength doesn't mean you yourself have it. Take a look at some of the people who have "Immense Strength" listed and why they have it listed. Jura has it listed because he "smashed Orga Nanagear, a Mage notable in his own mass, into one of Crocus' stone streets, reducing a fairly large section of it to pieces." Mirajane's Satan Soul has it listed because with it Mirajane "blocked a punch from Elfman while he was in Full-Body Take Over with one hand." Natsu has it because he was able to "stop the gargantuan Dorma Anim's foot, which was going to crush him and his fellow Dragon Slayers, all by himself, subsequently throwing the robotic Dragon off balance by rapidly pushing it away." So the issue isn't that we think Laxus doesn't have Immense Strength - it's just we can't list him as having such until he does something that definitely proves that. Iam...    JakuhōRaikōben19:54,6/29/2015

But Laxus has already shown he has Immense Strength. He was able to hurt people as durable as Jura and Hades using his Lightning coated punches and kicks alone. And Hades was able to take attacks from Natsu, Erza and Gray and not receive any damage whatsoever from their attacks even though his Magic Level was suppressed.
Taurus, who has Immense Strength, couldn't hurt suppressed Hades as well even though he was using an axe. Even Lucy's, Wendy's and Natsu's (propelled by Gray) Unison Raid didn't hurt him -> http://img4.mangasee.co/series/FairyTail/0243-019.png. And they all had increased offense from Wendy's Enchantments -> http://img4.mangasee.co/series/FairyTail/0243-010.png.
Not to mention Laxus's stats (along with everyone else's obviously) increased exponentially after he trained for 3 months. He physically one-shotted Tempesta who took plenty of physical attacks from Natsu (who also has Immense Strength) without much trouble. Actually, Tempesta should have Immense Strength as well since he was able to block Natsu's kick just fine without even using his Etherious Form -> http://img4.mangasee.co/series/FairyTail/0390-011.png
The feat of blocking a chop from Jura alone proves Laxus has Immense Strength -> http://img4.mangasee.co/series/FairyTail/0321-007.png
User: LaxusDreyar20:33,6/29/2015 20:33, June 29, 2015 (UTC)
From Natsu's fight against Erigor we know that encasing a Dragon Slayer's hand in his element greatly increases his punching power. So all the stuff you attribute to Laxus "physical strength" isn't physical at all, but magical. As far as I remember, we've yet to see Laxus fight anyone without using magic and thus there is no proof for his physical strength. For all we know he could theoretically be a total whimp without his magic... unlikely in the extreme I know, but still possible. NoNickNeeded (talk) 20:50, June 29, 2015 (UTC)

(edit conflict) But ditto what Nick said. Iam...    JakuhōRaikōben20:59,6/29/2015

Laxus blocked Jura's chop. Like I said, that feat alone proves Laxus has Immense Strength.
And Tempesta took Magic induced punches and kicks from Natsu just fine -> http://img4.mangasee.co/series/FairyTail/0394-003.png. He managed to shake Natsu's hold off of him -> http://img4.mangasee.co/series/FairyTail/0390-012.png and even block Natsu's Magic induced attack -> http://img4.mangasee.co/series/FairyTail/0390-011.png. After just one physical attack from Laxus, Tempesta was momentarily knocked out. Natsu at the time couldn't replicate the same physical feats Laxus showed. Meaning Laxus has more strength than Natsu has. :/
User: LaxusDreyar21:08,6/29/2015 21:08, June 29, 2015 (UTC)

He was fighting Jura whilst enhanced with Magic. Ergo, not valid. And as far as Natsu goes, the Tempesta that he fought looked vastly different from the Tempesta Laxus fought. We don't know if his rebirth granted him any enhanced abilities or not. And even if his strength didn't increase at all from his rebirth, once again, Laxus defeated Tempesta with Magic infused attacks not a pure physical attack. So his Magic could've been stronger than Natsu's and the reason for Tempesta's defeat. Again, no one is saying that Laxus doesn't have immense strength. But until he shows clear cut strength without the use of Magic, we can't list him as having immense strength. Iam...    JakuhōRaikōben21:19,6/29/2015

I honestly think this whole Immense/Enhanced X is subjective as hell and should be unified into one term for any kind of 'special' strength, otherwise we're just making stuff up as we go. I agree that having Taurus as 'immense' while Laxus is only 'enhanced' is quite ridiculous when you look at the general difference between them. <.< Miskos3 Message 21:26, June 29, 2015 (UTC)

It's true that it seems ridiculous, but it's not meant to be an indication of actual ability so much as it is shown feats. For example, we know that Zeref probably has an ungodly amount of Magic Power, but since he's never shown that feat we can't list him as having such even though we list Mirajane as having it. It's not meant to be a page-to-page comparison type of thing, and I don't think anyone who sees Mirajane with the Immense Magic Power feat and Zeref without it would think that she has more Magic Power than Zeref. And similarly, I don't think anyone actually thinks Taurus is stronger than Laxus. Iam...    JakuhōRaikōben21:34,6/29/2015

I do understand how it works, but I still think there isn't really any consistence within this system, as there are no clear lines between 'normal', 'enhanced' and 'immense'. Miskos3 Message 21:48, June 29, 2015 (UTC)

@Jakuho -> Being enhanced with Magic doesn't increase one's physical Strength though. It just increases one's Offense/Destructive Capacity.
So if Arcadios punches Hades or Jura for example, would he inflict more damage to them than GMG Laxus would without his Magic just because he managed to lift Lucy and Yukino while they were also helping themselves up? A feat even the average bodybuilder can replicate (real life bodybuilder)?
User: LaxusDreyar21:50,6/29/2015 21:50, June 29, 2015 (UTC)

Force is a part of that offense.

And if that is Arcadios' only claim to fame, then he certainly shouldn't have Immense strength. In fact, you can debunk it to Enhanced now if you want. :P But, let's say for example that Arcadios' strength was immense, your argument still wouldn't hold true. If you'll read what I said above, the "Enhanced/Immense" listings are not testaments to abilities the character have, but rather what they have shown. Which is why you can't try to compare page to page. Zeref doesn't have Immense Magic Power on his page, but Mirajane does. That doesn't mean that Mirajane has more Magic Power than Zeref, it just means that Zeref hasn't shown us his Immense Magic Power yet. Iam...    JakuhōRaikōben22:04,6/29/2015

But physical Strength (which an extremely high amount of it is required to block Jura's chop) isn't. Natsu engulfing his hands with his Fire Dragon Slayer Magic wouldn't enable him to lift more weight/give him additional strength.
If we're going by feats, I don't think Arcadios should even have Enhanced Strength (real life Amateur Bodybuilders can replicate the same feat he did). Characters like Orga and Neppa don't have Enhanced Strength listed under Magic & Abilities despite them being at least as ripped as Arcadios if not more so why would only he have it?
Looking closely now, it seems Laxus blocked Jura's chop without Magic -> http://img4.mangasee.co/series/FairyTail/0321-007.png
The Lightning above their hands is probably from the Lightning engulfed punch Laxus landed on Jura 2 panels prior to their clash.
User: LaxusDreyar22:54,6/29/2015 22:54, June 29, 2015 (UTC)

Blocking a chop isn't lifting something. All you have to do to block a chop is have enough force to block that person's attack and his Lightning Magic could provide that. And as far as him not using Lightning Magic, I'm not buying it. That panel is way too small to definitively say and in the panel prior and immediately following that panel, he is cloaked in lightning. As far as Arcadios goes, I agree. Remove it. :P Iam...    JakuhōRaikōben23:40,6/29/2015

All a Dragon Slayer's engulfed punches/kicks do is give them an offense and DC/AoE boost (due to the actual Magic that hits the opponent along with the Dragon Slayer's hit). Other than hurting the opponent's hand, there's not much else Magic does when a DS blocks a chop from another Mage. Erigor said that Natsu's flames make his attacks more destructive (meaning more AoE) -> http://img4.mangasee.co/series/FairyTail/0018-019.png
He didn't mention anything about a Strength boost. We are almost 450 chapters into the series, and no one (as far as I remember) said that a DS's Magic induced punches increase Physical Strength..
How is the panel small? You can clearly see Laxus's hand isn't engulfed in Magic like the punch and the kick he lands on Jura at the same page.
User: LaxusDreyar00:20,6/30/2015 00:20, June 30, 2015 (UTC)

"Destructive Power" isn't a specific term whatsoever, and last I checked, you aren't Hiro Mashima so who are you to say what he meant by it? :/ The nature of Magic is variable and so are its capabilities, which is why we don't allow feats like strength/speed/agility etc. to be determined when Magic is involved in any way. And yeah... no. If you look at the picture, you can see lightning near Laxus' fist. We know Laxus is immensely strong, but until Laxus shows a clear sign of strength that doesn't involve his Lightning Magic, his strength feat is not changing. Iam...    JakuhōRaikōben01:05,6/30/2015

Imma just throw my two cents in here. Jakuwhore is right. We havent seen immense strength from Laxus. Lidor, you are a Laxus fan boy, you are completely 100% biased on every issue involving Laxus. No matter how much you continue to argue this, its not going to change, so how about we all just drop the issue and walk away?-- God · Pray · 01:10,6/30/2015

@Jakuho -> Welp.. I think he already has shown to have Immense Strength but fine I guess..
Godisme -> I am a fan of Laxus and I am a dude so you're not far off there but let's be clear. I'm not blind or 100% biased towards him. Just because I like him a lot more than anyone else doesn't automatically mean I am. You don't see me running around saying Laxus can one-shot the whole FT verse with a fart. I think I already said before that Mard and Gildarts were both stronger than GMG Laxus. The way I see it, SO Natsu, SO Gray and GMG Gajeel (when all out) are close to Tenoru arc Laxus's lvl and SO Erza (when all out) can beat Tenrou arc Laxus without too much trouble. Misko also agreed that Taurus having Immense Strength and Laxus having only Enhanced is ridiculous.
If I was the fangay you claim I am I would've never thought the way I do. I would have made claims such as Laxus would have killed the entire Alvarez Empire (including the 12 Spriggans) by just burping out some lightning but I don't (feel free to prove me wrong on that).
Do I want to see Laxus doing some insane shit like easily ragdolling 10 Spriggans around at the same time? Of course I do. Who doesn't want to see his favorite character kickin ass?
Do I think he can pull off something as crazy as that? No, obviously.
If you guys think Laxus has only Enhanced Strength than it's fine by me. I just saw Taurus and Natsu having Immense Strength while Laxus doesn't so I got confused but whatever..

Laxus' magic[]

Why does it feel like the Lightning Magic listed is more like Lightning Dragon Slayer Magic? I mean, how can one be sure the lightning magic used when he confronted Gajeel is not like Lightning Dragon Slayer Magic? (AtlantisUchiha (talk) 12:28, September 2, 2019 (UTC))

I believe the reasoning is that it was shown prior to the revelation of his dragon slayer magic that he uses basic lightning magic and his earlier appearance showed multiple times that he uses lightning to attack zato and so on. When he revealed he is also a dragon slayer magic user, natsu was surprised even though he already knew laxus for a very long time and if i remember correctly laxus even said that his dragon slayer magic is a secret, so how can it be a secret if he openly uses it in the past multiple times and him being associated to lightning was even known by majority of the guild members as well as having the thunder god tribe call themselves that name if his magic was a secret meaning aside from dragon slayer magic he also uses plain lightning magic openly while maintaining his secret in the first place.

It was also supported by the fact that when he used a red lightning against wall, it was never called a dragon slayer spell, it was never called a lightning dragon secret art and the red lighting was shown to be more associated with his connection to yuri who is not just his relative but also a lightning magic user. So as long as he used magic and never called it a lightning dragon's spell then we cant assume it is a dragon slayer magic spell unless it was officially said that it was a dragon slayer spell. Lastly if you checked the raw cover of chapter 69 it was shown that the japanese character written as his main magic was lighting magic which makes sense since much information about him hasn't been revealed yet. Think it of like this. He knows Lightning Magic and likely when given his Dragon Lacrima Implant it simply increased his Lightning Magic and gave him Dragon Slayer traits[[User:Twilight Despair 5|]] ([[The God of Creation]]) (talk) 01:44, September 3, 2019 (UTC)

Good points, however wouldn't there be a chance his Lightning Dragon Slayer Magic could be confused with normal Lightning Magic? As shown with Natsu in that he's able to use fire in a way fire mages use Fire Magic and people wouldn't simply think of Fire Dragon Slayer Magic. But I do like the explanation by Twilight, who said he had Lightning Magic prior to the lacrima implant. Make sense, but thanks for the responses nevertheless. Magic Power[]

Shouldn’t there be a notation in his Magic Power like: That a year after Fairy Tail’s disbandment his already immense Magic Power increased enough to casually cast a Lightning Spell that deflected Ajeel’s Spell a Spriggan Class Mage causing a huge explosion and required August to shield him. Wahl also said among the Fairy Tail Guild he had one of the strongest Magic Power.[[User:Twilight Despair 5|]] ([[The God of Creation]]) (talk) 06:34, March 28, 2020 (UTC)
