Attacks[]

jivedDoes anyone care if i put her attacks on the page, or should we form another page for magic?Umibouzu 23:29, 1 January 2009 (UTC)

If magic gets it's own page, it should be about magic in general (e.g, introducing the different types of magic, such as Stellar Spirit and Lost Magic). It sounds nice if each character page has a section about their attacks (perhaps using bullet point, putting them under their 'Main Branch' of magic. So in Lluvia's case, you could put a list of her attacks as bullet points beneath Water Magic). Well, in my opinion anyway. But if you do, other characters should get the same thing (I don't mind helping out with that) Lazy Mage 09:57, 2 January 2009 (UTC)

Alright ill work on each page to put in attacks, can i help you with anything? i cant write articles very well but i know a lot about fairy tailUmibouzu 01:12, 3 January 2009 (UTC)

Well, frankly, I'm not great at this wiki thing either =[ After all the character pages seem good enough, I'm planning to make a Mashima Hiro page, and a Faiy Tail (manga) page. Those two pages seem rather important (in my opinion). Anyways, I see you've done the list of attacks for Lluvia, Natsu, and Gray allready, I'll do Gazille, and any others I find while I'm online ^^Lazy Mage 09:13, 3 January 2009 (UTC)

Why is the synopsis of Juvia's involvement in the Phantom Lord arc in Spanish...? KytaEternal 18:42, August 17, 2010 (UTC)

S Class Status[]

Max Alors confirms it here]. Will this end the confusion? I'm going to edit the main article now, but I don't know how to add notations to a page, so if anyone wants to, free free. No confirmation on Gajeel though.Baithin 00:45, September 5, 2010 (UTC)

Sorry to burst your bubble, but that is most likely a mistranslation on their part... If you want to know why, please read what I posted on Talk:Fairy Tail Guild. Gajeel? No idea either... ChaosKnight 06:10, September 5, 2010 (UTC)

http://mangahelpers.com/t/cnet128/releases/796- I checked the translation, it says her skills are S-Class, which unlike Natsu, or Fried or the dozens of uncofirmed ones, it is actually stated in the manga, its in the original text too. So it stands, I think its proof enough thats she's S-Class, this is actually confirmed, we have to accept it. but Gazille does not. -Umi

Juvia was S-class within Phantom, but S-class status apparently does not transfer between guilds. ZeroSD 02:50, September 28, 2010 (UTC)

Pictures[]

There are quite a lot of pictures on Juvia's main page to the point that it's clogging things up. Some are quite unnecessary to have, and probably should be removed. Can I take some off? Or can someone add them to the slideshow or Bonus Gallery instead? Baithin 20:58, September 27, 2010 (UTC)

Name[]

I know Japanese, and the name reads Jubia, not Juvia (or Luvia), should we change the name?

-Dimomarg 19:51, November 30, 2010 (UTC)

No. Although the Japanese language does not have a 'v' sound, and they use 'b' sound in its place, the english's first name is given by the author Hiro Mashima himself. The last name is yet to be revealed because the corresponding volume is not out in the US yet, so we are using 'Loxar' for now. ChaosKnight 21:32, November 30, 2010 (UTC)

Reference Edit[]

By the way, that recent edit was made by me, a member of the Reference guild, so please don't undo it. Thank you.Ash9876 (Talk to Me) 02:34, March 19, 2011 (UTC)

Usually people don't undo references. If they do however just undo their edit because it's usually vandalism, Great job on Juvia's page btw. -- Iam...JakuhoRaikoben  03:27, March 19, 2011 (UTC)

Trivia Reference[]

Could someone please tell me references for Juvia's Trivia at the bottom of the page. If there are no references we'll have to delete it.Ash9876 (Talk to Me) 20:51, March 21, 2011 (UTC)

Also, the quotes section has an interview, could someone give Ash the reference to that interview as well, Thanks.  Iam...JakuhoRaikoben  21:02, March 21, 2011 (UTC)

This talk page post has been here for three days, I've gotten the quotes referenced and found a reference for one of the trivia points, but if I don't get this trivia point referenced it will have to be deleted.

*Currently, Juvia is the third most popular girl in the series. Iam...JakuhoRaikoben  02:27, March 25, 2011 (UTC)

Sorry for the delay, the reference for the trivia has just been added. ChaosKnight-{E-mail} 04:19, March 25, 2011 (UTC)

Thanks.  Iam...JakuhoRaikoben  04:31, March 25, 2011 (UTC)

Shouldn't we use her first look as her char box pic since that is her current look? Or should we wait until the anime comes out since I see a few changes in her current look? JapaneseOPfan :: Talk 03:49, March 27, 2011 (UTC)

Personally I would say yes, but what do you mean few changes(i'm not too observant)?  Iam...JakuhoRaikoben  03:55, March 27, 2011 (UTC)

Well she replaced her teruteru bozu (the white doll that was on her neck) with the fairy tail symbol, plus I see a few extra buttons. Does that count? JapaneseOPfan :: Talk 03:58, March 27, 2011 (UTC)

Yeah I say that counts, but I think you can still change it to the original pick, and whenver the anime catches up to the changes we'll add that picture.  Iam...JakuhoRaikoben  04:04, March 27, 2011 (UTC)

Should I use the one in the appearance section and replace that one? Because I can't seem to find a good shot. Or should I just upload a new file when I have time? JapaneseOPfan :: Talk 04:22, March 27, 2011 (UTC)

I am personally more inclined to find a different one, but I think the one in her appearance gallery is useable. If you could find another one that would be really great though.  Iam...JakuhoRaikoben  04:40, March 27, 2011 (UTC)

Official Name Change[]

From Volume 13, Juvia's surname is "Lockser", and not "Loxar". Her surname will be changed to Lockser without objection in order to maintain the Name Policy of the site. ChaosKnight-{E-mail} 15:49, May 13, 2011 (UTC)

Profile picture[]

I think we should change it. The previous one still had a teru teru bozu on her coat. --Ishthak says 07:49, September 17, 2011 (UTC)

Juvia's age[]

Just to make sure before editing anything. The article states that Juvia's age is 18, however her guild card page, at least the one pictured in our article about Chapter 104, states she is 17. What's right?

83.89.59.170 22:20, October 23, 2011 (UTC)

Fixed. Thanks.  Iam...JakuhōRaikōben  22:26,10/23/2011

Rain[]

She can conjure rain, can't she? Shouldn't we mention it in her Magic and Abilities topic? User:Domynyk 17:06, Dec 22, 2011, (UTC)

Reference? Relikz Relikz Talk (Talk Page) 16:07, December 22, 2011 (UTC)

Yes, but as Rauleli said, it should be referenced and it should be noted that it has to do with her emotions not by any matter of choice.

 Iam...JakuhōRaikōben Shunsui  16:09,12/22/2011

That's true, she has to be in a special emotional state to conjure rain. User:Domynyk 17:17, Dec 22, 2011, (UTC)

Rai, If you are referring to when it started raining in the Tenrou Island arc, I don't think Juvia had anything to do with it as rain was coming before Juvia got angry, and after her fight, it kept raining. Relikz Relikz Talk (Talk Page) 16:19, December 22, 2011 (UTC)

What rain? I'm not seeing any on that page. The rain was only clearly coming on this page when Juvia was angry. In addition, when she was gloomy and sad back in her days in Phantom Lord, rain fell around her constantly, but when she met Gray, the rain around her stopped. So I think it does have to do with her emotional state.

 Iam...JakuhōRaikōben Shunsui  16:25,12/22/2011

Done, please check and fix it if necessary. User:Domynyk 17:27, Dec 22, 2011, (UTC)

Never mind, you said the rain looked like it was coming.  Iam...JakuhōRaikōben Shunsui  16:29,12/22/2011

The black clouds say rain, so even if Juvia wouldn't have gotten angry it would've rain anyway. During her fight with Gray, if it had anything to do with her emotions, then as soon as he saw Gray and fell in love with him the rain would've stopped. Relikz Relikz Talk (Talk Page) 16:30, December 22, 2011 (UTC)

What to do now? User:Domynyk 17:31, Dec 22, 2011, (UTC)

Then how exactly do you explain the fact that the rain stopped? And that ever since Gray saved her it hasn't rained around her anymore?  Iam...JakuhōRaikōben Shunsui  16:34,12/22/2011

It was said during a flashback( Juvia vs Gray), she hadn't got any friend , because she caused rain all the time. It started raining when she got angry, and after the battle with Meredy, it stopped. She must have caused the rain.User:Domynyk 17:35, Dec 22, 2011, (UTC)

I can't, MAYBE it is because of her emotions, maybe not. How can you explain that the rain didn't stop as soon as she fell in love with Gray? It stopped after the fight? Relikz Relikz Talk (Talk Page) 16:42, December 22, 2011 (UTC)

Let's do what you want, I don't really care now. User:Domynyk 17:45, Dec 22, 2011, (UTC)

This isn't about what I want and what I don't want. This is about what is and what isn't true. Relikz Relikz Talk (Talk Page) 16:48, December 22, 2011 (UTC)

(edit conflict)Maybe simply loving him wasn't enough to stop the rain. It did indeed stop after he saved her though. The rain might not have stopped because she was already passed out, and let's say for example that her emotional state in her fight with Meredy didn't have any effect on the rain. Why did it always rain around Juvia as a child, and during her time with Phantom Lord? After Gray saved her Juvia saw the clear sky for the first time. Even if isn't because of her emotional state, there's no denying the fact that Juvia can indeed cause rain to form around her without choice.  Iam...JakuhōRaikōben Shunsui  16:50,12/22/2011

I think it's evident when she has an important battle or she is in intense emotioanal state there will be raining. User:Domynyk 17:53, Dec 22, 2011, (UTC)

Here it says that Juvia is an ameonna and that it always seems to rain around her, it may have nothing to do with Water Magic, just that Mashima decided to make a character that is an ameonna. Because she passed out? Here Juvia regained consciousness and is even filled with joy because of Gray. But did the rain stop? NO Relikz Relikz Talk (Talk Page) 17:04, December 22, 2011 (UTC)

Yes, on that page, Juvia thinks that she is an ameonna. Which I imagine, that if it constantly rained around someone they would think that. Mashima could have made her one, or he couldn't have. In addition, I said that MAYBE it was because she passed out. Never once used any absolutes there did I? This discussion is pointless. I'll open up a community vote below this discussion to decide.  Iam...JakuhōRaikōben Shunsui  17:14,12/22/2011

I didn't say you did. I think opening a community vote would be the best idea. Relikz Relikz Talk (Talk Page) 17:22, December 22, 2011 (UTC)

Should be up in a couple of minutes.  Iam...JakuhōRaikōben Shunsui  17:26,12/22/2011

Okay, so this vote is to decide how everyone think Juvia's rain comes about.

Magical Explanation w/ Emotions[]

Vote here if you think Juvia's rain deals with a Magical means of some sort that she cannot control and is caused by her emotional state.

  1. Support Support - I personally think that Juvia's rain has to do with some Magical means of some sort that she cannot control that is somewhat dictated by her emotional state. Back in her younger years, Juvia had rain around her all the time, and during her time in Phantom Lord, Juvia still hard rain around her all the time. When Gray saved her, the rain immediately stopped pouring, and it has not constantly rained around her since that day. I can't think of any logical reason why her rain would stop when she was saved by Gray unless it was because the rain was somewhat dictated by her emotions. I do think it also somewhat noteworthy that in her fight with Meredy, when she heard Meredy claim she would kill Gray, the rain started to pour heavily around Juvia when she was making that psycho face. True the rain didn't stop after her battle with Meredy, so? The clouds were gray before her battle with Meredy, and when she got angry it finally rained. Juvia could have caused it to finally rain, and it kept raining because it was already going to rain, or Mashima could have just made a mistake. Now it is also possible that it raining in her fight with Meredy at the exact moment that Juvia's anger skyrocketed was coincidence, but I'm not convinced. Now, with that being said do I think we should outright state that it is Magical? No. Here's how I think we should word it, Ever since her younger years, Juvia has had the ability to conjure rain, although she has no control over it, and it seems to be somewhat dictated by her emotional state. In all honesty, I'm fine if we leave it out of the M&A section and just keep it in the history, but I'm voting for this because of my gut.  Iam...JakuhōRaikōben  18:08,12/22/2011
  2. Support Support - You're absolutely right. I agree with you. She can't control it, the rain is depend on her emotions. User:Domynyk 19:26, Dec 22, 2011, (UTC)
  3. Support Support - I also think she can't control the rain but it does seem to be a product of her emotions. Even at Tenrou Island, the rain didn't start to fall until she had gotten (angry)? I also don't think Mashima just wasted those few frames with the rainfall.--Cerez365 19:32, December 22, 2011 (UTC)

Magical Explanation w/o Emotions[]

Vote here if you think Juvia's rain deals with a Magical means of some sort that she cannot control, but has nothing to do with her emotional state.

  1. Oppose Oppose - Doesn't sit right with me.  Iam...JakuhōRaikōben  18:11,12/22/2011
  2. Neutral Neutral - Not too sure about this bit but I agree with Jakuho.--Cerez365 19:32, December 22, 2011 (UTC)

Ameonna[]

Vote here if you think Juvia is like this because she is an Ameonna (refers to an unlucky person that seems to be jinxed to have the rain follow them wherever they may go, thus gaining a reputation for ruining special events such as weddings or sporting events).

  1. Neutral Neutral - I think it's a slight possibility...  Iam...JakuhōRaikōben  18:09,12/22/2011
  2. Neutral Neutral - I think with my reasoning of it I can't side with this though possible.--Cerez365 19:32, December 22, 2011 (UTC)

Left[]

Vote here if you think Juvia's "rain ability" whatever it may be, should be left off of her abilities section all together.

  1. Support Support - I think it should be left out as we don't exactly know how i happens. It could be because she is ameonna or it might be a Magical explanation that has nothing to do with emotions as even when she is in love, the rain doesn't stop (another example) Relikz Relikz Talk (Talk Page) 17:39, December 22, 2011 (UTC)
  2. Neutral Neutral - I think this is an okay course of action, but i'm just not comfortable with it.  Iam...JakuhōRaikōben  18:11,12/22/2011
  3. Oppose Oppose - It's her main ability, she got the name "Rain Woman" because she is able to conjure rain. During her childhood almost everybody hated her because they knew that it was raining because of Juvia. User:Domynyk 19:30, Dec 22, 2011, (UTC)
  4. Oppose Oppose - I think it should be mentioned at least especially since I was hoping the other day that i'd come here and find an explanation for it so I would assume there are others who might come here looking for the same.--Cerez365 19:32, December 22, 2011 (UTC)

Discussion area (if necessary)[]

I have a question. Are you going to add her rain cunjuring abilities to her topic, if the first variation will win? User:Domynyk 14:40, Dec 23, 2011, (UTC)

Yes, it will be added to her Magic and Abilities section, if that's what you mean.  Iam...JakuhōRaikōben  04:35,12/24/2011

Name trivia[]

Uhm is it noteworthy to mention that the name "Juvia" might be a pun on the Spanish work "lluvia" which is the word for "rain" itself? I thought there was enough of a link with her guild master Jose having a Spanish name and well the stereotypical Mexican moustache.—Cerez365 16:36, January 6, 2012 (UTC)

No... (according to Rai) Relikz Relikz Talk (Talk Page) 20:39, January 6, 2012 (UTC)
