God Slayer Magic and Flame God Slayer Magic[]

These two should not be separate articles. Its obvious that Flame God Slayer Magic comes from God Slayer Magic. SeaTerror 19:27, June 14, 2012 (UTC)

I don't see why. Fire Dragon Slayer Magic comes from Dragon Slayer Magic but we have separate pages for them. I view God Slayer as a broad form of Magic like Take Over and Flame God Slayer Magic as a specific branch of that Magic like Satan Soul or Beast Soul, etc.   Rai  Talk     19:32,6/14/2012

Agreed.   BHappy ChibiJ   23:57,6/14/2012

Orga[]

Since the God Slayer magic is black, does that mean Orga is one as well?173.175.216.132 15:48, June 22, 2012 (UTC)

Speculation. Until it is stated in the Manga, we will not add it to the page. RelikzTalk PageTalk 15:49, June 22, 2012 (UTC)

God Slayer and God Slayer Magic[]

Like Dragon Slayer and Dragon Slayer Magic, God Slayer and God Slayer Magic are two different things. One is a being that slays god, and the other is the magic they use to slay god. Here are the kanji and romaji for both:

  • God Slayer (滅神魔導士 (ゴッドスレイアー) Goddo Sureiā)
  • God Slayer Magic (滅神魔法 Metsujin Mahō)

Thanks Chaos.   Rai  Talk     16:04,6/22/2012

Orga again[]

Well, after today's chapter it's pretty obvious that he is the Lightning God Slayer. His face when Chelia used black wind was Mashima thinking "wow, the people on wiki need that confirmation, let's do this" xD

So, his spells should be moved to a new article here. That's not regular Lightning magic, Martios 19:39, June 22, 2012 (UTC)

Your attitude isn't appreciated.

Until it's outright stated, the information won't be added.

Lol, the "XD" signified a joke Prime. And as Prime said, we don't do anything without official confirmation. Waiting a week or so won't hurt us.   Rai  Talk     19:41,6/22/2012
Lol, my bad, I overlooked that...

It was just a joke, no need to get angry. Thanks for the answers guys. Martios 19:45, June 22, 2012 (UTC)

God Slayer Magic vs. Dragon Slayer Magic[]

While I admit that God Slayer Magic is extremely powerful and probably more destructive, I believe calling it superior is probably inaccurate. The Dragon Slayer ability to recover from fatigue after consuming their element is probably a better outcome in battle than the God Slayers ability to recover from wounds. Also, it seems to me that God Slayers are already at their full potential while Dragon Slayers have the ability to grow more (especially considering they still have Dragon Force) which, in a sense, make Dragons superior to the Gods. Not to mention, the God Slayers are yet to have a clear victory over a Dragon Slayer. They've beaten the Dragon Slayers pretty bad, but have yet to win. (Shadoguardian (talk) 03:49, July 31, 2012 (UTC))

We have that because Zancrow stated it to be so. RelikzTalk PageTalk 19:40, August 31, 2012 (UTC)

The fact Zancrow stated that and he had the arrogance to compare a dragon to a gecko makes his claim seem questionable, especially since the end the Grand Magic Games arc made God Slayer Magic look inferior to Dragon Slayer Magic when Orga and Chelia's God Slayer Magic was stated to not have any effect on the dragons. Either this means God Slayer magic isn't meant to slay anything but gods or there's something else we don't know, something that could be related to why God Slayer magic is always black in color and possibly Silver's Devil Slayer Magic even.--Eternal-Era-Twilight (talk) 07:56, April 16, 2014 (UTC)

This discussion is almost two years out of date and that line in the article has longe since been changed. NoNickNeeded (talk) 08:05, April 16, 2014 (UTC)

God Slayer Magic and Zeref[]

This is just a thought, but the most recent episode has got me thinking. Could there really be a connection between God Slayer Magic and Zeref, himself? Rmac107 (talk) 04:46, February 16, 2013 (UTC)

It was in the trivia once but it got removed for no damn reason whatsoever --FirePit (talk) 21:09, February 16, 2013 (UTC)

Well, it was removed because it isn't true. That's the "damn reason". We don't know much about God Slayer Magic, so putting it in Trivia, let alone relating it to Zeref, is pretty outlandish.
.:Umy:.Talk to me! 21:52, February 16, 2013 (UTC)

This idea appeared because Jellal misunderstood that Chelia was connected to Zeref. So far nothing was mentioned relating God Slayer Magic and Zeref. Martios (talk) 21:57, February 16, 2013 (UTC)

I actually realized that after rereading the chapter in the manga. Been a bit since I originally read it and completely forgot about it. But there's still the thing about how God Slayers learned their magic in the first place, and I still get the feeling there's a connection, even if it's an indirect connection. Rmac107 (talk) 05:46, February 17, 2013 (UTC)

Learning from books.[]

Should this article mention that God Slaying Magic can be learned from books, like Chelia did?—This unsigned comment was made by NoNickNeeded (talkcontribs) on 14:07, October 12, 2013‎.

Erm... anyone? NoNickNeeded (talk) 15:02, October 26, 2013 (UTC)

Was it stated that Chelia learned her Magic from a book? I stopped reading the series for a while so I may be missing an information, but as far as my knowledge goes, I don't remember anything that Chelia's Magic were learned from a book. Unless otherwise, then shame on me. :P
Patamonメッセージ15:08, 10/26/2013

It was on the Cover of Chapter 353
WrathYou...wanna talk.Zero 15:12, October 26, 2013 (UTC)

As to actually adding that to the page, I don't see an issue with it per se but it should be written in a specific manner and not suggest that any God Slayer Magic can be learned in that way since we only know of one such case. King of Uncool 15:15,10/26/2013

Lost Magic vs Ancient Spell[]

Why isn’t God Slayer Magic listed as a Long Magic? It’s stated on the Seven Kin of Purgatory that “all” members practice a form of Lost Magic. And if I remember right Mavis called Sherria Blendy’s Magic Lost Magic. Yes I know Ancient Spell refers to any kind of ancient magic. However lost magic is acredited as erased from history for its power and side effects. While as like Rufus’s Memory Make is simply referred as an Ancient Spell a magic from a long time ago.[[User:Twilight Despair 5|]] ([[The God of Creation]]) (talk) 03:32, January 31, 2019 (UTC)

Actually, it is listed as such. It's categorized as Lost Magic (and Ancient Spell) and is listed in the Lost Magic section in the Magic navigation template. Every Lost Magic is an Ancient Spell, but vice versa is not true. It's just that Lost Magic is not directly stated here and all God Slayer Magics are referred to primarily as AS, while they are still LM, which is weird I guess...since Dragon Slayer has the same exact situation and has Lost Magic...I believe it's just...diversity? (Could you even call it that?) Since as I said every LM = AS but every AS =/ LM :/

HamodyTartaros' NecromancerAsgail 15:43, January 31, 2019 (UTC)

But didn’t Mavis during the Grand Magic Games called Sherria Sky God Slayer Magic a lost magic?[[User:Twilight Despair 5|]] ([[The God of Creation]]) (talk) 17:35, January 31, 2019 (UTC)

My point is that in the navigation template it’s listed as an Ancient Spell. While Dragon Slayer Magic is listed as only as Lost Magic. I get that all Lost Magic are a kind of Ancient Spell but that not all AS are LM. But we have heard at least Mavis refer to it as LM directly.[[User:Twilight Despair 5|]] ([[The God of Creation]]) (talk) 17:43, January 31, 2019 (UTC)

All Dragon and God Slayer Magics are listed as Lost Magic (see Magic page) and in the navigation template all are listed as Lost Magic (There's no reference to Ancient Spell in general in that template to begin with). What I was trying to say is that they're acknowledged as LM, for some reason or another it's just not outright written in the first line in their articles.

HamodyTartaros' NecromancerAsgail 17:58, January 31, 2019 (UTC)

Well it should be listed a LM then on it’s actual page if it canon sourced. http://bleachsoulevolution.com/forum/manga/Fairy_Tail/288/6

And yes I get it might navigate to the LM section on the Magic page. But my point is if they are the same classification of Magic than in the actual template on the GSM page why it is “spelled” as Ancient Spell where as DSM has it spelled Lost Magic on the template. As seen below. [[User:Twilight Despair 5|]] ([[The God of Creation]]) (talk) 18:18, January 31, 2019 (UTC)

He was asking why some Lost Magic are under the "Lost Magic" tag if all of them are also classified as "Ancient Spells" Some of the Lost Magics have discrepancies, such that God Slayer is listed under Ancient Spells, but not Lost Magic, while some other like Dragon Slayer magic is listed under Lost Magic but not Ancient Spells on the infobar.
