Sorry about that; I shouldn't have simply deleted it. Instead, I've referenced them in the correct way by putting the <ref> </ref> tags around your references. Although I have deleted two of them because they don't directly appear to reference anything and they're not that needed, to be honest. Dalyup! 17:11, December 30, 2009 (UTC)

also in chapter 165 when mira is mentioning hes taken on 10 year missions, in 2 version ive seen they say:

"Because no one can complete it within 10 years, so its called a 10 year mission".

another version:

"Furthermore it's said he's given the task to undertake a 10 year job, too". "there isn't anyone who's been able to achieve that kind of job before, that's why it's designated as a 10 year quest".

now im waiting on frankyhouse to see what they will come out with the the second statement heavily implies it DOESNT TAKE 10 years to complete it BUT its so hard that it may take 10 years (indication as to why he is back after 3 years). whereas the first can be read as it TAKES 10 years (which i doubt since anyone can do it in ten years then). i am leaning towards the second one as him completing a "10 year mission" in 3 years makes him a freaking bad arse - which is how he is portrayed.

need to wait for 166 to confirm

Some of this is kinda, assumption based, all we have ever heard is maybe 8 sentences about him ever, maybe you should not ass assumptions until next chapter -Umi

Indeed, some of it does seem to be speculative. However, we'll know by next chapter as you said. Dalyup! 17:11, December 30, 2009 (UTC)

All of the Chinese Scanslation states that the former is the correct one. (The one that says no one can complete it within 10 years.)

His Magic was reavealed

A smashing Magic.

Just a thought of curiosity here, his "crash" magic seems to be "crush" when read in the katakana writing supplied, is it?

Partners?

"Ivan Dreyar (presumably)" Based on what? I don't think a dislike is enough to assume that, we should take it down if it's speculation. ZeroSD 19:21, October 9, 2010 (UTC)

Should we note that Gildarts has a striking resemblance to Shanks from One Piece? --KiumaruHamachi 02:52, April 24, 2011 (UTC)KiumaruHamachi

He barely looks like him; it's incredibly irrelevant.Zicoihno (Talk to Me) 02:56, April 24, 2011 (UTC)

No trivia about character resemblance to other manga, except for those that are made by Hiro Mashima, are allowed. ChaosKnight-{E-mail} 03:09, April 24, 2011 (UTC)

Actually, he looks excactly like Shanks in appearance as well as character, however it is not something important! It shouldn't be mentioned! Ari@n 21:39, May 18, 2011

Since we've decided that the trivia won't go on, I'll close the discussion.  Iam...JakuhoRaikoben  18:42,5/18/2011

Durability against the crimson lotus

Both the manga and anime only showed part of his cloak getting burnt off, physically there were no signs of injury. If this is the case then why did it say slightly injured in the fights article and no major signs of injury in this one? Shouldn't it be changed.--SalmanH (Talk) 08:24, October 1, 2011 (UTC)

Rave Master trivia

In the Rave Master arc where Haru gets onto Doryu's ship, the first opponent sent to fight him uses Crush magic. However, it's based on the same principle of turning whatever it comes into contact with to small pieces, and if you check out the manga, the way things are disassembled is similar. If I'm not mistaken, it's chapter 115. I can't get much info on the guy, so I didn't edit it in. Anyway, this is trivia fodder. Just thought maybe someone would be interested so I'll leave this here?

Hair color

On page 1 and 2 of chapter 241[1] his haircolor is depicted as brown rather than red. Does anyone actually know if there is any official artwork that features him with red hair? i was just wondering if the red hair is really just a screwup from the anime people, also taking into acount that Fairy Tail: Zeref's Awakening features a similar hair color as the chapter. --Cosmikaze 15:26, June 5, 2012 (UTC)

It's red, look at the cover of Chapter 208.   Rai  Talk     16:04,6/5/2012

Well you seem rather sure, and i'm not gonna start a huge argument over it, but I would like to point out that you have found one cover page where his hair is red, and looking through the manga myself (just skimming for color pages, so I could easily have missed some) i havn't been able to find any more where he has red hair, where as I have an actual color page from the manga, a color cover page, official artwork from the game to support brown. Also take a look at the volume 28 cover, looks brown to me too. --Cosmikaze 18:50, June 5, 2012 (UTC)

Yeah, Mashima probably changed it to fit with him being Cana's father and whatnot... RelikzTalk PageTalk 19:01, June 5, 2012 (UTC)
