New Picture

I was thinking this would be a better imageEndomarru 21:37, April 6, 2011 (UTC)

I agree, though some people may complain since it's a manga image. -- Iam...JakuhoRaikoben  21:46, April 6, 2011 (UTC)

We could show bothEndomarru 00:38, April 7, 2011 (UTC)

Alright just go upload the pic of the one you want, and I'll put it on the article.

Thanks... How do you do that with your signiture?-Endomarru 00:51, April 8, 2011 (UTC)

Ah, it's complicated go to User:IamJakuhoRaikoben/Sig2 copy the sig code, and replace it with the info and colors that you want. Then make a page entitled User:YOURNAME/Sig2 and place your info here. Then create User:YOURNAME/Sig1 and paste {{User:YOURNAME/Sig2|{{{1|''Predated ''}}}}} there which will essentially redirect to the Sig2 page. Then go to your preferences and hit the custom signature box, and place {{SUBST:User:YOURNAME/Sig1}} there. Iam...JakuhoRaikoben  01:05,4/8/2011  01:05, April 8, 2011 (UTC)

"Titan" vs. "Giant"

As noted in the article itself, the name of this magic is pronounced "ジャイアント" (Jaianto), which means "Giant." However, the article is rather entitled "Titan," despite there not being anything to support why (not that I know of, anyway). If there is no reason, may I request permission to rename this article "Giant," or to be directed to the people who decided to call this article "Titan" so I may discuss the matter with them? Immblueversion 21:27, November 23, 2011 (UTC)

That was the official name given by Mashima. Yes, please create a redirect. Bickslow Doll 2 Relikz Talk (Talk Page) 21:30, November 23, 2011 (UTC)

Check with ChaosKnight he usually get's us all the names, and Rauleli he never asked to create a redirect...  Iam...JakuhōRaikōben  21:32,11/23/2011

Oh, I read the last part wrong... lol Bickslow Doll 2 Relikz Talk (Talk Page) 21:37, November 23, 2011 (UTC)

I figured you did, I thought the exact same thing when I first read it. When I edit conflicted with you I re-read his or her comment.  Iam...JakuhōRaikōben  21:40,11/23/2011

I'll redirect it anyway. By the way, truth be told, I only have the first four English manga volumes released by either Del Ray or Kodansha (I can't say for sure which one), and they list the name of Makarov's as "Giant." Are there any later volumes that change that, or was that translation simply given to someone by Hiro Mashima? Immblueversion 00:19, November 24, 2011 (UTC)

I'm not sure. Talk to ChaosKnight, he'll give you everything you need. Bickslow Doll 2 Relikz Talk (Talk Page) 04:15, November 24, 2011 (UTC)

Okay, there are some seious mistakes here. 巨人 means Kyojin not Jiyaianto, there is no such word. It should be Jaianto. Secondly, why does it hold the name Titan when Jaianto is Giant, or vice-versa- why is Jaianto written for Titan when it should be Taitan? ZikimuraGray preparing ice make   20:26,12/4/2012

Is Titan a Lost Magic?

I wondering if Titan is a Lost Magic because, Makarov Dreyar is the only guy in Fairy Tail (Guild) who has that type of Magic and no one else seen having one in most of Fairy Tail series.

If any of you guys want to talk to me about this, I'm all ears. User:Warmachine375.

I doubt it very much, Erza is the only Requip user; which isn't a Lost Magic. Until it is stated in the manga, it remains the same.  Fallen Shadow

Lol Fallen, Erza is not the only Requip user. But yeah, Titan has never once been stated to be a lost magic. Just cause only one person uses it doesn't mean it's "Lost". Éclair MovieUltraprime2Let's talkChibi Mystogan 10:52, December 6, 2012 (UTC)

Meh. I got to the point, so who cares?  Fallen Shadow

Overstating Power

The article seems to overstate Titan's ability to enhance Makarov's Strength and Durability. Fighting toe-to-toe with Acnologia, and taking a shot from Jupiter may not have been possible without the enhanced power temporarily granted from the Great Tenrou Tree. - SW 07:06, May 31, 2015 (UTC)

Unfortunately, even though you are most probably correct, we have to go with what we see, so if it isn't stated that what Makarov did was due to being near the Tenrou Tree, we can't really work around that.

A Giant Problem...

Page was renamed Giant (Magic)
Please do not edit this discussion.

Kay bitches, this was brought up above but all of you losers pawned it off and never got back to it even though there was an obvious mistake. Granted, I never looked into it because I thought it was one of those "the official volume with the note says X, so whatever" situations. Thing is, it's not.

This page is currently called "Titan", even though the katakana clearly says "ジヤイアント Jiyaianto", or, "Giant". Again, I thought it might be an English volume thing, but my official English version of volume 4 has Makarov's guild card on the cover of chapter 26, where his Magic is clearly translated as "Giant". In other words, both the katakana and official English have "Giant", yet for some reason we have "Titan".

Aaaand, before you try and pawn me off to Chaos too, just let it be known that its reply to my question about why this page is called Titan is: "Ignorance of the older generation."

I hereby propose the immediate change of the name to the proper translation. Tbh, I didn't want to open a discussion because imo this shouldn't need to be discussed, but, again, people like to complain. And, no, sorry, but "Titan sounds cooler" won't cut it (even if I agree). Vote!

  1. Support Support - Is there even a legitimate way to oppose?? ☆°・*CarrotSays...*・°☆ 01:20, August 1, 2015 (UTC)

This shouldn't even be a vote. If the katakana and official translation both clearly show the magic is Titan and even Chaos agrees, it should just be changed, but just in case Support Support --- God · Pray · 04:11,8/1/2015

Support 1000%! Even if Titan sounds better. :P Iam...    JakuhōRaikōben 04:55,8/1/2015

I can't say I didn't notice the mistake, but I thought there was a solid reason behind it. So, with that, I definitely Support Support - the name change.

Support Support - Even though I actually think Titan sounds cooler and more badass, but if the katakana says its Giant, then Giant would be a better choice. ..::ShinShinTo::. 07:30, August 1, 2015 (UTC)

Support Support - ofc. Onfire.gif Wonder Talk 12:12, August 1, 2015 (UTC)

You know what? This is stupid. It shouldn't be necessary to vote for this (and technically we have enough supports anyway). I'mma go ahead and rename it now. Onfire.gif Wonder Talk 12:27, August 1, 2015 (UTC)
Technically, only admins and council members should be able to close discussions, and there should be enough time for everyone to voice their opinion, but in this case, go ahead, I suppose. Funny how all this old stuff (Pantherlily?) is appearing now... Miskos3 Message 12:29, August 1, 2015 (UTC)
I'm sorry, it just seems so unnecessary to have a vote over something like this. But, before changing it, as there is already a "Giant" page, should this page be renamed "Giant Magic" or "Giant (Magic)" or something else? I'm a bit unsure... Onfire.gif Wonder Talk 12:42, August 1, 2015 (UTC)
I think it should be the best if we just wait a bit more so everyone may get a chance to vote, even though the results are obvious. Waiting never hurts, guys. :/

Support Support - I always thought the official English had it as Titan, hence not bringing it up and not even bothering to check. Pretty crap of us to have only brought it up now lol but better late than never!

Wanna know how "Titan" got that name? Hint: Think "Titan's Wrath". ChaosKnight 22:03, August 1, 2015 (UTC)

Titan's Wrath has already been renamed Giant Wrath so... we're just stupid. Onfire.gif Wonder Talk 22:38, August 1, 2015 (UTC)

Okay, since obviously the change will be made, I have to be the douche to raise an issue. As we already have a page for Giants, the Giant Page, what should we rename this page? Options are either Giant (Magic), Giant Magic, or; we can rename the race page Giants or Giant (Race) and leave this page as simply Giant. What do you guys reckon? Any other options? Onfire.gif Wonder Talk 22:34, August 1, 2015 (UTC)

Disambiguation Page would be best imo-- God · Pray · 23:19,8/1/2015

Oppose Oppose - Yes, we know that the Kanji (or whatever its called) has no connection to it, but whatever, Titan and Giant are basically the same thing anyways. And Titan sounds cooler XD (AtlantisUchiha (talk) 07:11, February 26, 2016 (UTC))

Sorry friend, but I'm afraid you're a bit late to partake in the discussion. And when I say a bit, I mean you are waaay too late. The change was already made like 4-5 months ago. The discussion has been solved. Onfire.gif Wonder Talk 08:36,2/26/2016
