Shalulu? making more sense than Charles?
I know her actual name hasn't been confirmed but does Shalulu make more a accurate sense to her name pronunciation-Sharuru- instead of Charles?
1) they say ~Sha which kinda does match with Cha~ but
2) The ~ruru which they say in the anime comes out in english as lulu ( since the L's name the R' sound )
+ plus maybe if it was Charles wouldn't her name be pronounced? "Shāruzu"
-- This is just a suggestion, but I can understand if you don't get my reasoning. It's just a thought I recently got and I wanted to know what people thought about it. --JRB--
The letter "u" is silent in japanese so her name would be pronounced as, written in english, "Sharl", which is Charle. Relikz Talk 18:10, June 18, 2011 (UTC)
I actually rewatched the OVA, and during her appearance in the opening sequence, her name is shown to be pronounced "Charles." Not only that, but I looked up the general name as it's spelled in Japanese (シャルル) on the Japanese version of Wikipedia, and it states that it's the Japanese equivalent of "Charles." (There's no actual English equivalent to this page on Wikipedia; looking up "Charles" in English leads to the name チャールズ, not シャルル). Is there an official source, or any reliable one for that matter, stating otherwise for the character's name? Or are we just not going to go through the trouble of renaming "Charle" as "Charles"? Immblueversion 02:31, September 1, 2011 (UTC)
Well, it was decided that we would use Charle. I believe we recieved the translation Charle from ChaosKnight (if i'm not mistaken). And while it could very well be Charles, it won't be changed to Charles until we get confirmation from the English version of her name released by Kodansha. It's not a matter of "trouble" as changing Charle to Charles would be childsplay for my bot. Iam...JakuhōRaikōben 02:38,9/1/2011
Like Immblueversions said, "Sharuru" is how Japanese pronunce "Charles" in their native language. But until volume 16 is out, her official english name is still unconfirmed... I'm still working on translating the name origins on volume 27, and perhaps it may shed some light on her name (though hers is one of the tougher ones to translate). Carla?
Hey, what happened? Why did change from Charle to Carla?? Dragon NJMB 10:48, December 10, 2011 (UTC)
I think that it's her official name given by Mashima. BJ 10:51, December 10, 2011 (UTC)
I don't think it's an official name given by Mashima, but it was a name given in a volume whereas a previous one was a fan translation so we're going with Carla until we have the official (hopefully Carla is the official). Iam...JakuhōRaikōben 13:46,12/10/2011
But in Eternal_Fellows, Carla's name appears like Charles. And where Carla appeared in the manga???.Dragon NJMB 02:55, December 11, 2011 (UTC)
Eternal Fellows is an anime opening, not an official manga volume. Also, Carla appeared in a recent volume not in a fan translated chapter. Iam...JakuhōRaikōben 03:14,12/11/2011
Fairy Tail's Studio Animation is adapting from the manga, so they should find "Carla"'s name in the manga somewhere. And tell me, where did Carla's name appeared romanizated in the manga)?. Dragon NJMB 05:01, December 11, 2011 (UTC)
Of course you wouldn't find it in the manga. All the chapters on the web are fan translated. BJ 05:08, December 11, 2011 (UTC)
The name Carla was the official name given by Mashima. If you want to learn more visit our Naming Policy Relikz Talk (Talk Page) 12:29, December 11, 2011 (UTC)
So, nobody is going to answer me? I'm asking where the ROMANIZATION of "Carla" 's name appeared in the manga? Dragon NJMB 09:44, December 13, 2011 (UTC)
