From what I can tell. Vladman is just as valid a translation of his name as Bradman. As B and V along with L and R are interchangeable in Japanese. Combined with the fact that it looks like he has blood related magic. Implies to me that this is possibly the intended way. Envyus (talk) 04:47, May 21, 2016 (UTC)

just to make sure, how did y'all take in when the Sabertooth member called him a "god" of death? Literally or figuratively? NcduruRavens wallpaper (2) 12:37, December 16, 2015 (UTC)

Figuratively. And, for now, just something those people came up with on seeing his appearance, so not enough for an alias either. Plus, pretty sure they called him a Shinigami, which can be interpreted in various ways. --Sane Lunatic (talk) 12:42, December 16, 2015 (UTC)

trueee just making sure, plus Ankh already has that title NcduruRavens wallpaper (2) 12:52, December 16, 2015 (UTC)

Are you sure his name isn't Bloodman (based on the recent chap)? Does anyone have the original japanese raw? -- 17:16, December 20, 2015 (UTC)

yup.. all the translator sites using Bradman, plus chaos approved it too, I wonder if his name has a meaning or background to it though NcduruRavens wallpaper (2) 17:18, December 20, 2015 (UTC)

Since he can use curses and refered to gajeel as a "lowley human" would it be safe to asume hes an demon and not a human? 2sheikah4 (talk) 13:12, May 30, 2016 (UTC)

Also i would like to point out levy says "That means...he's not human?!" In response to his claim of being able to use the nine demon gates curses. 2sheikah4 (talk) 13:20, May 30, 2016 (UTC)

I wanna say he's an etherious but they never stated that... he's not human though NcduruRavens wallpaper (2) 13:24, May 30, 2016 (UTC)

We shouldn't jump the gun. He could be another kind of Demon or something completely new that Zeref created. Saying he is Etherious would be speculation in my opinion. I'd be fine with just giving him "Demon" as a race, since that is less specific than Etherious, or leave it as unknown. NoNickNeeded (talk) 13:31, May 30, 2016 (UTC)

I would too, on the curse page it says only demons of tartaros use it, and all everyone who has been shown to use a curse have been demons so I would be cool with demon, I don't believe saying he's a demon is speculation NcduruRavens wallpaper (2) 13:34, May 30, 2016 (UTC)

Alright i will change his race from unkown to demon. 2sheikah4 (talk) 13:42, May 30, 2016 (UTC)

I thought Curses were used exclusively for the Etherious. For him to use them is enough proof of him being Etherious himself. AnonymousAnomaly 00:21, June 1, 2016 (UTC)

Thats what i thought two but im fine with him being listed as a normal demon but if it came to a vote id go Etherious 2sheikah4 (talk) 11:04, June 1, 2016 (UTC)

Not putting him as Etherious would be a speculation. Miskos3 Message 14:26, June 1, 2016 (UTC)

As would be putting it to Etherious. Let's face it, at this point we have no proof either way, so anything other than "Unknown" is really just speculation. But with just Demon, there's a bigger chance of it being true, since Demon encompases a wider range of beings. If he turns out to be Etherious, Demon is also correct (though we'd still have to change it if and when we get confirmation), since Etherious still are Demons, just a special kind of Demons. And if it turns out he is not an Etherious... well, there's still the chance of him being a different kind of Demon. NoNickNeeded (talk) 16:35, June 1, 2016 (UTC)
Where did common sense go Miskos3 Message 16:38, June 1, 2016 (UTC)
So we should use common sense to judge things in a series that's riddled with inconsistencies and contradictions, like mages powering up their magic by eating magic destroying stuff? Also I don't see how common sense would dictate that only Etherious can use curses in the first place. Curses where said to be something that either Mard Geer or E.N.D. invented, but it was never said or even hinted at that only an Etherious could learn or use them. NoNickNeeded (talk) 16:58, June 1, 2016 (UTC)
both are etherious though NcduruRavens wallpaper (2) 17:06, June 1, 2016 (UTC)
Literally the only two kinds of Demon race we've seen are: Etherious and Galuna Island Demons. Last time I checked, it was only Etherious that were seen using Curses as those who actually invented them. Now, these Etherious were created by Zeref, with Bradman serving the Black Mage himself. Furthermore, Bradman was using the very same Curses that the Nine Demon Gates were using, he literally said so himself. Saying that he's not Etherious because no one explicitly said so is the very epitome of everything that's wrong with the workings of this wiki. Because according to your logic, next time a pet dog appears, we should wait until someone actually says, hey, this is a dog, otherwise this wiki putting it up as a dog will be speculation. Now, I'm not denying the need of a speculation policy in some cases, but... please? This is literally just common sense. Yet I need to type out walls of text. Miskos3 Message 17:09, June 1, 2016 (UTC)
I was agruing from the point of view that Lullaby and Deliora aren't considered Etherious, but when I just checked I saw saw that they are listed as Etherious too... when was that changed? The last time I checked discussions the consensus seemed to be that they are different from Etherious oO. If those two are considered part of the Etherious by consensus, then yet we can just lug him in there too for now. I don't like it (for either of the three), but if the majority decided on the Deliora/Lullaby thing, then it applies here too. NoNickNeeded (talk) 18:00, June 1, 2016 (UTC)

on the curse page there's nowhere that states that only Etherious can use Curses unless it's missing info, I'm with what y'all wanna do NcduruRavens wallpaper (2) 16:16, June 1, 2016 (UTC)

Some of his magics are similar to what some Tartaros users used such as magic particals and curse, does this mean he is one of Zeref's demons that he keeped in reserve if Tartaros were defeated or just another man the demons captured to make him as one of them? (Thedarksorcerer56 (talk) 13:15, May 30, 2016 (UTC))

Not the place. Better ask the question in one of the review blogs once they are posted. NoNickNeeded (talk) 13:29, May 30, 2016 (UTC)

Third Seal

Official English release of volume 55 has re-translated his name to Bloodman. Now that it's in official English and we won't have mismatching names between media, I can support this change. I always thought Bloodman was better but support Bradman because of this, but since volumes trump weekly releases...let's start.

@Aged Goblin: Crunchyroll and then every other scanlating site after that. Kodansha checks the translations before they go into volume format. =P

@WrathRogue ChibiZero: The Crunchyroll is dead, long live the Kodansha! --Goblin King - 3000 B.C., Keeper of Evil Squirrels 20:23, August 10, 2016 (UTC)

Well actually crunchy are only hosting Kodansha translations for their simulpub. If you look at the fairy tail manga page on crunchy, the translator listed is William Flanagan, who is also the translator listed for all the volumes (including the del rey volumes). In fact, after some digging, turns out he actually lives in Japan and has stated he has very little contact with the creators of the series. With weekly chapters I doubt Mashima or anyone at Kodansha would have the time to check translations. But given he does have access to Mashima if needed, I'm guessing he does check names and terms when the volumes come out. So the volumes are pretty much just updated translations.--DuelMaster93 (talk) 06:31, August 11, 2016 (UTC)

^that's interesting, I always felt like the volumes and hard subs we get in the anime trump anything we get from scalantors, crunchy when it comes to translations. That, and anything Hiro says directly from his mouth Ncduru 10:29, August 11, 2016 (UTC)

I don't think Bloodman have the curse Macro because if he can use that curse maybe he doesn't have to fight with Levy and Gajeel, He can control them, right? Hewa Fort (talk) 18:10, August 18, 2016 (UTC)

He pretty much stated that he can use all the curses of the Nine Demon Gates and their masters. He only displayed a few of them during the fight, including the use of Silver's Devil Slayer Magic. So yeah, re-read the chapter again for proof. Super Kami Guru (Swiggity swass, I'm gonna violate 'dat ass!) 18:46, August 18, 2016 (UTC)

Bloodman's transformation and his Third Seal seem to be different, he discusses the Third Seal as he takes on his transformed state, but does not actually use it until later (when he says it is released) - where it manifests as a light on his head and allows him to use Over Skelter. He also refers to his seals as being Curses. As he is using the Third Seal/Over Skelter he also states "behold curse power which surpasses the nine", which implies that they are curses. --Neffyarious (talk) 11:31, March 31, 2019 (UTC)

I'm ok with labeling them as Curses. However, as far as Third Seal goes, I'd consider that shout more of a full power release, which is the Over Skelter spell.  Miskos3  Message  12:25, March 31, 2019 (UTC)

Should we really list him as a user of all of Tartaros' curses? It's just an assumption by Gajeel based on him using a few of them. As far as I can see Bloodman himself never says he can use all of their curses, just that he uses curse power like they do. --Neffyarious (talk) 13:41, April 23, 2019 (UTC)

Hopefully someone with access to the official translation would double check, but seeing that gajeel just assumed that he can use all the curses of the tartaros demons while only witnessing bloodman using a few could lead to inaccuracy. So if the official translation confirmed that gajeel was unsure and was just questioning if bloodman can use all of the curses then the curses in his page is going to be removed. Lets see what the others think. LightningGeistLaxus Chibi 14:25, April 23, 2019 (UTC)

I don't think it's necessary to check for Gajeel since there's no way he could know if Bloodman could use all of the curses. But clarifying whether Bloodman says he uses "curse power like the nine demons" or "curses of the nine demons" may be necessary. --Neffyarious (talk) 14:58, April 23, 2019 (UTC)

I agree, so as of now gajeel is an unreliable source on whether bloodman can use the other curses so well have to wait for the other users who normally check the official translation to confirm. and edit it in one go.LightningGeistLaxus Chibi 15:08, April 23, 2019 (UTC)

Gajeel confirmed he call use all of Tartaros curses, I'll close this one cause anime doesn't dissuade this from the original source--Ncduru 14:53, April 28, 2019 (UTC)
