Wrong Name[]

Renaming them to Aegis & Bandou (Concluded with Chaos over Skype as well)

I've come to find the page where this character's name was revealed: here

Apparently, エイジ & パンドウ is NOT his name. The name that has been written on our wiki is a name used for the character's prototype.

Translated by the tumblr user, thefairystales,
"Looking at the “before” panel, it seems like the guy was originally named エイジ (Aegi, without the “s”, or Eiji)."

Continuing on with thefairystales' translation, They’re original characters created for the anime by Nishimoto Hideo, another manga artist, and known together as エイジス&バンドウ (Aegis and Bandou). The guy is named エイジス (Aegis) and the dolphin is named バンドウ (Bandou).

Considering that their names are エイジス & バンドウ, what should the english name be? Should we name them Aegis and Bandou? or do you guys have any other suggestions? Please comment below.

Well, the name for the dolphin should definitely be a Bandou since the hiragana says so. Don't even know why we have it as P since its clearly not a maru above the hiragana character. As for Aegis, I am not sure, I prefer Aegis because I like that word and at least it looks better than Eizi or something. The reason I'm not sure is the image you sent, two says エイジ, and one says エイジス. 2-1 here.

Hmm, Chaos? And do you have a list or something? From what I just read, it sounds like you're just saying the name is wrong, but [this] is their name. Yet ask for suggestions. If that's their name and the current is wrong, why open a discussion?
MegaPanchamTalk 04:14, February 10, 2015 (UTC)

  • The kanji is definitely wrong, however, I'm asking for English translation suggestions. I merely linked translations from thefairystales and just threw her translation has a suggestion, but it isn't something I'm suggesting from my own preference.

I would just ask Chaos to see what it says regarding the page, wherever it wants translation requests/checks to be placed now anyway. That way we just bypass this and get immediate approval, because if the name is supposed to be Aegis (I don't agree with this. The word is supposed to be read "Ee-jis", not "Ay-jis", but not my judgment call) & Bandō, then so be it. I'll just roll with whatever it says about this.

I'm fairly certain Choko asked Chaos about the name before making this page. I was the one to link him that scan, too. Miskos3 Message 08:09, February 10, 2015 (UTC)

  • Hm well, I don't know how the name came about but aside from thefairystales' gratuitous translations of their name and also that エイジ & パンドウ is a prototype name, you can also see the scan. The "before" ver. has the enclosed name but it's actual name is written in the paragraph above in brackets.

    • Ooh, I misunderstood. Well, asking Chaos is the best option, then Miskos3 Message 16:52, February 10, 2015 (UTC)

Bandou sounds better, Aegis i like it better, but I think Chaos had this translated right before. CS CharmeleonAnimaltamer711:33, February 10, 2015 (UTC)

Aegis and Bandou sounds much better. I'm for the change.DispellingJellal chibiMage 15:16, February 12, 2015 (UTC)

About the name[]

I know I noticed this too late but shouldn't they be named Aegis & Bandō instead of Aegis & Bandou? :/ DispellingJellal chibiMage 10:32, April 2, 2015 (UTC)

Well they are the same thing so either way is fine I guess Relikz TalkUser Talk 11:55, April 2, 2015 (UTC)
