This is the talk page for the article "Acid Magic".

Name[]
The anime kinda gave this a name. They said "Magic Acid." So what I'm wondering is if we should just rename this to "Acid" or if I'm just misunderstanding something? o.O Keep in mind that 95% of our named Magic don't have the word "Magic" at the end...

I think "Acid" suits best. --112.198.79.227 03:49, May 10, 2014 (UTC)
Plus now we gotta make this a Holder Magic... great. hmmm... Magic Acid... Acid Magic... chaos perhaps? 04:53, May 10, 2014 (UTC)
Nah it was Caster Magic. The soda bottle Neppa had on his mouth is the replenishing source. --112.198.79.227 05:14, May 10, 2014 (UTC)
Pantherlily was just calling the acid magical in nature. It'd be like someone fighting against Gray and saying they're having trouble with his magic ice, or something to that effect. Also, yes, it is Holder Magic because, anon, the bottle is not the replenishing source, it is the source. A Caster Magic needs no replenishing source because it comes naturally from within the body. Holder Magic is an entirely external source that act as the medium between the body and the magic (like Lucy's keys), which is what this acid is. Without the bottle of acid, Neppa could not cast this magic, because as we've seen he must consume it before casting it.

yeah. I agree with Sussy that that's what it sounds like. 21:19, May 11, 2014 (UTC)
Acid Magic Spells[]
Are there any spells for Acid Magic? Even an anime-only Magic has spells too. --180.190.168.148 10:46, May 26, 2014 (UTC)
There is a spell listed. Otherwise, we've seen him utilize his Magic in the exact same way Millianna used Nekosoku Tube (back when we thought that was her Magic)

With that said, I disagree with this being a Holder Magic. I'd like to point out fire as Natsu's means of replenishing, so it's not fully true that a Caster Mage doesn't need it. I think it works similarly here, he's basically powering himself up, perhaps bringing his pH low enough to strengthen the effects of acid. And no, we don't see him drinking it every time, just when he's attempting to deliver a stronger attack. Miskos3 Message 20:09, May 28, 2014 (UTC)
I totally agree with Miskos. It looks like a Caster Magic replenished by the drink in the bottle. BOGOTA X - Talk 13:24, May 29, 2014 (UTC)
He didn't use the bottle itself to cast the Magic. I also agree that it's used only to replenish so I'd say it's Caster. 8:50AM, May 30, 2014
It's definitely Caster Magic in my book as well. There's a thin line between the two sometimes(see Angel Magic) but here I don't think it's debatable. The bottle is not used as part of the Magic, but to enhance it in some ways, so I voe for keeping it Caster.

Been a few days here. I think the majority's consensus is clear as to the nature of this Magic. King of Uncool 09:42,6/3/2014
