Mermaid (人魚 Māmeido) are semi-aquatic creatures from the Fairy Tail Universe.
Appearance[]
Mermaids appear to be half-fish and half-human (typically female) creatures, having the upper body of a human and the lower body of a fish's tail.[1]
Magic and Abilities[]
Underwater Breathing: As aquatic creatures, Mermaids are able to breath deep underwater.[2]
Proficient Swimming: As aquatic creatures, Mermaids are capable of swimming more proficiently than an average human.[2]

- In the Fairy Tail (Video Game), Mermaids have the ability to use Water Magic and heal others via the water.[3]
- Also in the game, Mermaid-like creatures known as Sirens appear as monsters the player faces. This variation has the ability to heal and boost the power of other monsters by singing via Sound Magic.
- When Celestial Spirit mages enter the Star Memory via Aquarius, they're also turned into Mermaids.[4]
- The video game Fairy Tail Goku • Mahō Ranbu, features a mermaid character named Thetis who is a priestess from Mermaid Island.
