Quitting

I feel like it would be best for me if I voluntarily leave this group, for the time being. Will it still be open for reapplications? I'm having problems juggling my schooling and my internet time, and it'd be bad if one or the other gets neglected because I am an awful multi-tasker who could not set her priorities straight. I haven't even taken one job here. It sucks when you have classes so early on what could have been a bright and perky Saturday morning, so you couldn't stay up late to read the later chapter of Fairy Tail that second it gets released.

I... think you guys get my drift now. XD I'm not complaining! Of course not. I really, really want to do some job here. But by the time I get home from school, all of the jobs had been taken, and I'm once again, well, job-less. It's not looking very good for me. I'm sorry if I hadn't even done anything yet, and I'm already quitting. But I honestly doubt you guys need a slacker, anyway. :D So like I said, I'm hoping that when I've finally adjusted to my new school life, you'll still be willing to take in a humble little onion. It was fun while it lasted--wait. I'm getting off topic, and way too melodramatic. Till then! You guys, do your best, fight-o!!!

Join up

With B j missing and Alois having apparently left the wiki for the most part, would you guys be willing to take in a new member?

I'm capable of referencing and read the manga whenever it's out. Though the late releases tend to screw me over because of my timezone, the early release times work well with me because of it. As I understand it, we're not required to add all the information on the day of release and we do have some time to get it up.

Please let me know what you think.

Chapter 298

So, it seems that we need to discuss where to write the events of Chapter 298 in the articles. Since it's from Manga, I think we can call it canon, thus adding it properly, ie the evening of Third Day. Herme 15:27,9/7/2012

Sounds right to me. Within the space of the manga, it seems to be between the end of Chapter 290 and before the beginning of Chapter 291. I think we ought to put the information in between the information of these two chapters.
I.e: Chapter 290, 298 then 291.

Yes My apologies for having denied your application on the 28th of January, it was due to the lack of jobs we had back then. However, one of our Mages was recently excommunicated from the team, leaving one spot vacant. You, Umnei, will occupy that position and be part of the Lightning Update Tribe's family. As a new member of the family, I will tell you some of the things you will have to keep in mind. If you do not complete a job every week, and many jobs remain under the request board section, you will get a strike. After you have reached two strikes, you will be kicked out of the team. Please be nice to your team members and help them out if need be. You are only allowed to take 8 jobs, nothing more than that. If after two days of the chapter's release date jobs remain untaken, you are allowed to take as many as you wish. Please look over our guidelines and make sure to follow our way of style.

Hey hey, just wanna say that first of all, my goal was joining the LUT to that I become active, meaning that I can't really edit here regularly because everything that is to be done around here, is taken by one of the teams/guilds. It's that or some other duties that are already been taken care of by more established users. By being active I mean, joining the wiki projects and editing regularly, not whenever you please; it doesn't guarantee me that you will be active. Thus far, I don't see you doing that. As for the 250 article edits requirement, it was added on the 25th of this month. Your application was submitted on the 26th, a day after. If you did not know that, then it adds more to the reason of me denying your application. About that activity thing, it doesn't really make much sense to me. You refused the application because I can not guarantee I will be active enough? You know well enough how much time and effort I put into Wikia. You've also seen me put a LOT of effort in OP's Ref Pirates, on a Wiki I didn't edit much, just like this one. Also, you said that by being active, you mean joining the Wiki projects... If I want to join a Guild or a Team but I get denied with one of the reasons being that I'm not part of a Guild or Team already, then how will I ever be able to join one? :P Just asking cause I'm confused by this. Oh and by no next time, I mean that the only project I can join with my skills and knowledge of FT is the LUT and I just don't think there's much chance of another application "session". Just that. Firstly, this is the Fairy Tail Wiki, not the One Piece Wiki, completely unrelated topics which you are bringing up to compare. Your contributions to the OP Wiki mean nothing to the Fairy Tail Wiki, you should know this. I am truly uninterested in whatever Wikia activity you have/had, if I don't see you here in the FT wiki, then you're inactive to me. The wiki projects are Guilds and Teams, I have yet to see you apply to any Guilds, I believe that someone should start on the Guilds before joining a team, just to see their activity and devotion to the Guild, thus showing your interest in the Fairy Tail Wiki. I don't know if you read the guidelines, which apparently you did not, but it states that you must contribute to the Fairy Tail Wiki on a daily basis, something you do not do/show. Secondly, please don't bother to apply another time or edit this talk page, I have lost interest in you as a user, winning and complaining because your application was denied; bull. If you guys are not aware of our recent changes, then I'll update you with a short, non-Carry summary. On January 23, 2013 (UTC) we said goodbye to one of our most improved members since the time he joined our beloved family, Abe. I did struggle a bit with his jobs when I was checking them at first, but then he came back redefined. I was shocked when I saw his work, it had improved so much. However, due to his personal issues, can be either good or bad, he was forced to renounce his position as a Mage of the Lightning Update Tribe. If you guys want to wave goodbye to our former teammate, you can do so. Maybe it'll get you some extra jewels. Due to Abe's dismissal, a new position was available. We had three applicants but only one of them met the LUT's requirements, Uny.

With that being said, I thought that having a new member would be a great idea, but as I searched through the history I noticed that a lot of our Mages have been complaining about the amount of jobs that are left when the other Mages have already taken their fair share. I thought about reducing the current job limit. But I'll be completely honest with you guys and girls, the current job limit annoys the shit out of me already, so I won't reduce it to anything else.

How to vote:

Yes - A new Mage should enter our family.
No - There is no need for a new Mage.

So my question is,

Should we accept another Mage into our family? Or do you guys think that the amount of Mages we have now is sufficient?

No - I strongly believe that the is little to no need for a new mage as it does feel, especially in recent weeks, that the number of jobs are scarce enough already and if we add another member to our group the number of jobs for the existing members will decrease even further. There is plenty of mages here able to cover the jobs per week and would rather see the rest of the existing members be able to get some jobs before letting somebody else join our ranks. Also we should take into account the others who are currently inactive as when they come back there will definitely be enough mages to cover the jobs.

No - Anyways, I would say no for now. I'm having the same issue in the ASG right now, many people asking me if they can join but no real positions available. As such, my solution was time, and I think that would be best here. I say we just wait and see whether another person is required or not. We don't just have to jump straight in and find a replacement. We can wait. Also, please don't forget that myself and others are inactive but will return to take on many jobs too. So, this being said I say reject all applications for now.

Sorry, but I have to go now. Typing this frantically on my phone in the lobby before check out. I also won't have Internet again until I get to Bangkok, which is in just over 24 hours.

No - I don't think we should allow another Mage join the team. It would be great to have another member, but adding a new person should not happen at this moment. No - I see no need for a new mage. With the mad rush to the board as it is, a lot of people are having difficulty getting to do what they want and with the requirements the way they are, the turnover risk when it comes to mages is rather high. As far as I see, we have enough mages to do the jobs in the allotted time so a new one is not necessary. With the way the manga is, we're unlikely to get any influxes of jobs. In the end, I don't think another mage need be added.

Yes - I do see the point of those disagreeing with a new Mage being allowed. However, I beg to differ-so far, we have coped with the number of jobs just fine, even when Abe was still active. So why should things be any different now? I know that sometimes some users were left without jobs, but that happened on a few occasions that only a few characters appeared. Usually, there are many background characters, giving enough jobs for almost everyone. Sure, not everyone can get as many as 8 jobs, but not everyone is willing to do so either.

In addition, when an active Mage does not make it in time to take some jobs in a week, the next week the rest of us can reserve for him/her some jobs so that they can remain in the guild. It's not all that hard really-we will keep working as we always did. Would it be better if we did not add a member? Maybe. But after opening the applications various users may have wanted to join, and they will be disappointed if they are rejected because the applications shouldn't have opened in the first place without discussion.

So...that's my input! It's still just 1 vote though >_>

Yes - We can live with one more member. It's not going to kill anyone here. Besides, since Umnei is pretty much the only one left who needs an approval or disapproval to join the team, simply giving him the no-no because he will just be an extra addition would be a shame, seeing as he's as good as, or even better, as an editor than some of us.

I understand that there doesn't seem to be enough Jobs for everyone each week and that no one on the team wants to do any less Jobs that they are able to. But first of all, not a lot of people with the requirements necessary for joining LUT even apply here and chances are, there won't be many who'd even want to, now or in the near future. Also, which I'm too uninterested to check and see if anyone already brought this up, but other Mages can reserve Jobs for those who, with whatever dilemma or situation they're having, are unable to grab their own personally for the week. I already know a handful of those who get immediate picks for Jobs. And I know just about how many characters are listed per week; somewhere around a few dozen, give or take. Those who get immediate first pick can save some Jobs for those who aren't likely to get any for that week. Perhaps a lot of you have an issue with this idea but it's not the worst, and it's good for others that really need it.

Look, we have one position open for one person so why not let him in? Like I said, it's not going to kill anyone and Umnei will very much likely be a good asset for the team. I might sound biased with this but this is just what I think. Live with it. Glass Heart (GHeart) 02:17,2/1/2013

I am sure that once the Grand Magic Games arc is over, less and less characters will begin to appear per chapter, unfortunately.
