Rival Bond Alchemy is the 140th chapter of Fairy Tail: 100 Years Quest by Hiro Mashima and Atsuo Ueda, a sequel to Fairy Tail.
When Gennai and Kotetsu recognize Lucy and her Celestial Spirits' strength, they call on Sai to use Rival Bond, swapping her and Brandish, as well as Gray and Natsu.
Summary[]
Natsu enters his Lightning Fire Dragon Mode and attacks Athena II with quick strikes and kicks. Athena II sends slashes of shadows, but Natsu dodges and attacks with Lightning Fire Dragon's Fang. Duke is surprised that he has a Lightning Dragon's power as well, but shows off another of Athena's power. The Alchemical Doll uses the wind to heal herself, shocking Natsu that she has Wendy's Healing Magic. Natsu decides to try to do so much damage that she cannot heal and prepares another attack.
Meanwhile, Lucy summons Loke who blinds her opponents as Gray traps them in ice. However, Gennai turns the ice into smoke, while Kotetsu breaks free and turns the ice chunks into steel. He then sends them flying to his opponents. Lucy summons Aries and makes a Fluffy Wool Shield, deflecting the steel. Gennai summons Sai who has the Alchemist try to seal Lucy's power. Sai uses his Bond Alchemy, asking her to think of the weakest person she knows. Gray warns her of the trap, informing her how it works and asks her to think of someone strong. Sai then adds that she should think of someone she hates. Gennai asks why he cannot just change her into an animal, but Sai explains that he can only switch them with someone they are thinking off, same applies with materials.
Gray, listening to this, tells Lucy to think of Mira, but she loves her. Gray then tries to stop Sai himself, but the Alchemist turns him into Natsu. At the same time, Natsu turns into Gray, surprised by this sudden change. Duke is amused, realizing this is Sai's doing. Gray notes that his and Natsu's powers are incompatible, making neither of them able to use their Magic. Lucy then thinks of someone she has a rivalry with, which Sai uses this opportunity switches her. Lucy ends up switching with Brandish, which Gray thinks they have the upper hand now.
