FT100YQ Episode 10

New Foes is the 10th episode of the Fairy Tail: 100 Years Quest anime.

Wendy and Carla got themselves caught by Nebaru, a Clinging Dragon Slayer of Diabolos. Erza and Jellal's fight were interrupted by Laxus and Kiria. Elsewhere, Natsu bumps into Wraith, a Spirit Dragon Slayer of Diabolos.

Lucy's Lion Maiden

Lucy defeats Lisanna

Loke briefly explains that Star Dress Mix is form that uses combines the powers of two spirits, in this case, his and Virgo's. Lisanna takes on the form of a Nine-Tailed Fox and uses Fox Impact. Lucy counters with Lion Maiden, hoping to take down Mirajane and Elfman as well. She reverts back to her Leo Star Dress after exhausting so much Magic Power. However, the two older Strauss siblings still stand, making Lucy wonder how is she going defeat them.

As the White Wizard waits patiently, Wendy and Carla fly to the right shoulder's city where they see a pillar of light and presume it to be where the orb is. Meanwhile, Erza sees a pillar of light at the left hand's city, knocking out Jet and Droy along the way. She gets there and finds Jellal. She Requips and prepares to fight, but is surprised when Jellal just strips and demands she comes at him. Flustered and thinking he has gone mad, Erza wants to defeat him as soon as possible.

While Natsu and Gajeel's fight continues, Gray faces the Thunder God Tribe. Because of the trouble of facing three at the same time, Gray tries to freeze them, but finds that he cannot use his Ice-Make. Fried reveals he set up a Jutsu Shiki that prevents anyone from using ice magic. Juvia points out how unfair this is, but Evergreen says that he can use other magic. Hearing this, Gray states that he takes no responsibility as he uses only the demonic portion of his Devil Slayer Magic.

To counter Gray's Magic, Fried uses Dark Écriture: Absolute Shadow. However, the Devil Slayer quickly overwhelms him and his allies. Fried tries to use Dark Écriture: Pain, but Gray is seemingly unfazed and beats him into submission. Evergreen and Bickslow attempt to use their respective Eye Magic on him, but they find that he is gone. Gray suddenly appears behind them and makes the two look at each other, dispatching them as well. He remarks that he did feel pain, as he was hurting his comrades.

Elsewhere, Natsu and Gajeel are both exhausted but are not giving up. Levy demands Natsu to stop hurting Gajeel and is prepared to fight for him. Natsu charges to attack, brushing off her spell and readies a punch. Gajeel yells to stop as Levy protects her abdomen. Natsu remembers when Levy revealed to him and the others about her pregnancy, making him hesitant to hurt her. Levy takes this chance and sends him away in a carriage, letting her and Gajeel recuperate. Gajeel sadly acknowledges that he lost again, but Levy tells him that, to her, he is the best.

In Left Hand Town, Erza and Jellal clash, the latter being more open with his feelings. Erza questions if the mind control worked on him differently. Meanwhile in Right Shoulder Town, Wendy and Carla enter the church that the light was coming from, finding several of their mind-controlled friends wrapped in sticky cocoons. Suddenly, a man clinging from the ceiling reveals his presence, calling the young mage his prey.

The man notices that his new prey smells like Dragon and shoots a substance like spider thread at Wendy and Carla. He controls the sticky substance and traps the two to a wall. He gets closer to them, introducing himself as Nebaru from the Diabolos Guild. He explains that he was the one who trapped the others, as they were also here to break the orb. Because of her dragon scent, Nebaru wants to eat her. The two panic, unable to break free.

At the Left Hand Town, Skullion's Team enjoys themselves at a cafe while watching Aldoron sleep. Kiria wonders if they could just eat the ground, but Skullion warns them not to, as they do not know what will happen if they do before his power is sealed. Madmole is worried about their comrades, but Skullion is wary of the other people destroying the orbs. Kiria thinks she will have to get violent if they have to face those people, having caught a whiff of her "pet". At the church, Erza Requips into several costumes to fluster Jellal, thinking she understands how his mind control works. This backfires, however, as he jumps on top of her. Suddenly, Laxus appears, asking Jellal if he has not forgotten their objectives even destroying those who oppose. The blue-haired Mage says he has not forgotten but wants to protect Erza, even if it means fighting him. Kyria then appears, having found Erza, and catches the scent of another Dragon.

Elsewhere, Lucy's fight with the Strauss siblings continue while Gray and Juvia tie up the Thunder God Tribe. Natsu is still rolling away in the carriage, when a man stops it. Natsu thinks he has been saved, but the man tells him that he has not. He asks if he can hear and see him, then he must be his next meal. He introduces himself as the Spirit Dragon, Wraith, and thanks Natsu for finding him.

Natsu questions if he is a Dragon Slayer, which Wraith asks if he would understand if he mentioned Diabolos. At first, the fire Dragon Slayer does not recognize the name but then remembers Skullion's Team. Wraith attacks him with the souls of the dead, an annoyed Natsu tries to attack him so that he can get back to saving his friends. However, he discovers that his punches go through him. Happy finally catches up to Natsu, but is confused when Natsu tells him to stay back from the dangerous man. The Exceed tells him that he is the only one here. Once again, Wraith states how grateful he is that Natsu found him as few people can see him, since he is a ghost.

Manga & Anime Differences[]

  • In the manga omake, Juvia learned the information about kissing from a magazine, which she gives to Erza. In the anime, there is no magazine present, nor any mention of one.
  • Juvia's mindscape depicted a male silhouette kissing a female silhouette in the manga. In the anime, the silhouettes have been replaced with Gray and Juvia touching the other's face, both nude.
  • After Jellal questions what Erza is doing, Happy is seen snickering in front of the store in the manga. In the anime, an aerial view of Magnolia is shown instead, with Happy nowhere to be seen.
  • The pants next to Gajeel have bumps on the hem in the manga omake, which are not present in the anime.
  • Lion Maiden ruptures the ground in the manga. In the anime, the attacks are simply emerging, with less damage done to the ground.
  • A brief shot of Mirajane, Elfman, Lucy, and Loke readying themselves again is added after Virgo is shown bound and defeated.
  • The anime does not include cards labeling the location when the scene switches.
  • Erza notes the orb before Jellal lowers his hood in the anime. In the manga, Erza notes the orb afterwards.
  • Erza's nude body is not seen when she is Requipping.
  • In the manga, Gray is seen dodging attacks when Juvia looks on after getting back behind the wall. In the anime, only Juvia is seen, as the camera is now in front of her.
  • In the anime, after being attacked by Gray, Fried coughs up blood in his Dark Écriture: Absolute Shadow form. Additionally, the right side of his face cracks.
  • In the manga, Evergreen's robe is almost completely destroyed by Gray's attacks, exposing her breasts and panties. In the anime, the robe is only slightly damaged.
  • Gray is not seen appearing behind Evergreen and Bickslow before he makes them look at each other in the anime. In the latter event, Bickslow and Evergreen's height difference is more pronounced.
  • There is no blood on Natsu's forehead in the anime.
  • The projectiles created by Solid Script: Bullet are glowing in the anime.
  • Levy's dress in the flashback does not have a darker layer under it.
  • As the carriage drives off, Natsu calls out foul play while screaming in the anime. In the manga, he is only screaming.
  • Kiria, Madmole, and Skullion do not have titles cards in the anime.
  • An image of an empowered Aldoron is shown during Skullion's explanation in the anime.
  • When the scene switches back to Lucy's battle, the combatants have not yet reengaged in the anime.
  • The anime omits Natsu's attempts to harm Wraith after his inital punch passes through him, skipping to Happy's arrival.
  • Happy's perspective is seen when Natsu points at Wraith, showing him pointing to an empty street.
