Dragon or Demon is the 315th episode of the Fairy Tail anime, and the 38th episode of the 2018 series.

Irene unleashes Deus Sema, a power beyond human comprehension. With only her right arm, Erza combats the spell that threatens the entire area. Meanwhile, Natsu is forced to make an important decision that will forever change his fate.

The following parts occur only in the anime:
- Irene's de-transformation.
- Natsu's decision included flashbacks of his fight against Jellal, using E.N.D.'s power vs. Gray, etc.
- Hisui's Enchantment being canceled.
- Crime Sorcière, Sabertooth among other guilds shown after Universe One's disenchantment.
- Arcadios shown being happy over Hisui's return to form.
Deus Sema's destruction was extended.
Wendy's Dragon Slayer Seal had feathers upon its cast in the manga. In the anime it was a tinted green coat.
Irene piercing Erza differed between the media.
The sword stayed in Irene’s body upon her death in the manga, while in the anime Irene removed it.
Lucy was more covered up in the anime compared to the manga where she was more nude.
Hisui's and Toma's lines were omitted.
