Demons' Parade (百鬼夜行 Hyakkiyakō) is a Spirit Arts that summons ghost-like, paranormal entities from Spiria.

Description[]

By weaving hand signs, the user can summon an infinite amount of ghost-like creatures called Yokai that move and attack at the user's will. The power of each Yokai is derived from the strength of the user's summoning abilities.[1][2][3] They can only be destroyed by another Spirit Art or Spiria-attributed attacks, not by normal Magic or Curse.[4]

The user also has the ability to transform other beings or themselves into a Yokai,[5][6] increasing their Spirit Power in the process.[7] Individuals transformed into a Yokai can be reverted back to normal by reminding them of whom they really are and, once they have returned to their usual self, they will not remember what happened to them or what they did while being a Yokai.[8] The process can also be undone by effects that remove abnormal conditions from the body.[9]

Trivia[]

  • Hyakki Yagyō is an idiomatic expression from Japanese folklore that means "Night Parade of One Hundred Demons", referring to the procession of countless yokai.
  • The individual spells of this Spirit Art (sans the "Lifeforms"-creating spell) refer to individual yokai (ghosts and monsters) from Japanese lore.
