Dark Écriture (闇の文字 Yami no Ekurityūru) is a Caster Magic and a type of Letter Magic and Eye Magic involving the usage of writing runes for various effects.

It is a form of Letter Magic that centres writing runes, either with or without the help of a Magic based object such as a pen, a quill or even a sword, to help them focus on where they place their runes for various types of effects even from a short distance onto a target. When active, one of the caste's eye darkens. The spells used for this Magic work only on what the caster writes it on; in other words, what they write becomes reality to those who've been inscribed. For example; writing runes that translate into "Fear" or "Pain" would make that target experience the sensation itself, causing both mentally and physically torment respectively. "Death" is also a possible effect.[1]
The caster can also write runes on themselves to enhance their defensive and offensive capabilities, repelling oncoming attacks back at the enemy[2] as well as augment the physical power of whatever weapon they wield.[3] The caster can also conjure an element for usage of this Magic, like poison.[4]
This Magic also includes physical enhancements that cause actual transformations, by writing words like "Darkness" and similar varieties on any part of their body, the caster is able to "Demonize", transforming themselves into Demonic forms and be granted different appearances and abilities, including even enhanced strength and durability.[5][6]
This Magic also provides convenient transportation for the user also when writing on themselves, such as teleportation while scattering the body into runes and reforming elsewhere[7] or sprout wings for flight.[8]
