At the guild, Irene is still draining Mavis of fairy heart when Zeref walks up to Irene and asks to to stop for a moment so that he can can one final conversation with Mavis. Then another Zeref yells to Irene that the apparition isn't him and that it is an imposter. Zeref tells Irene that illusions is a magic that Mavis particularly excels in and the that it seems the Invel has been incapacitated. Irene starts to become angry discovering that she was deceived. Zeref then ask Irene to capture Mavis and that she con not injury her under any circumstance and Irene agrees. Outside on the side of the hill that the guild is on, she is slowly working her way down when she mentions to herself that she never could have imagined the day that she would have to flee from her own guild and that given her position it would be difficult to meet with the others. From behind, Mest appears telling Mavis that he will escort her to everyone. On the battle field Droy falls onto the ground and as Jet tries to help him up, Gajeel takes the enemies surrounding them and tells Jet and Droy to fall back and regroup. Droy tells Gajeel that he shouldn't waste his energy on them and Gajeel states that for a short moment his life was over and now that he has the opportunity to stand again and shield a couple of buddies again, he couldn't ask for more. Lily cuts in, taking out to enemies ans tells Gajeel that he talks as though he just turned over a new leaf. Then Gajeel sees Levi who just appeared from behind and then she drop kicks Gajeel in the face. She lands on top of Gajeel and in tears she tells Gajeel to keep his word about how he promised her that he would take her back to the guild. From behind a nearby wall, Zera peaks her head out commenting about how youth is a wonderful thing. Lily recognizes her voice and then Zera briefly introduces herself and comes out from behind the pillar. Droy and Jet points out that Zera body looks transparent, Zera states that this is happening that she is an illusion created by Mavis' subconscious, so since she is becoming transparent that means Mavis' consciousness is returning and as soon as that Mavis fully remembers her, she will vanish. Mest tells Mavis that a young ladies voice had gathered everyone and Mavis' remembers Zera and she has a brief subconscious reunion with Zera then Zera vanishes. Gajeel and Levi thank Zera then Lily says that they all have one more thing to look forward to after this victory: they would get to hear all the stories of the first's adventures with Zera, the story of the origins of fairy. Mavis tells Mest that Zera has returned home and that it is time for everyone to return to where they belong, there home, the guild. On the out skirts of the battlefield, Lucy and Natsu are both unconscious, ties up to separate chairs and are handcuffed with magic sealing cuffs. Dimaria tells an unconscious Lucy that Lucy is responsible for killing her Randi and what torturous hell she put Lucy through to make Lucy repent. At another place Porlyusica running (with evergreen right behind her telling her not to rush) finds Brandish injured and on the ground and she asks her what has happened to Natsu. She mentions that her earlier diagnosis was mistaken, the tumor that brandish shrank wasn't anti-ethernano but something far worse.

Mavis and Zera is the 502nd chapter of Hiro Mashima's Fairy Tail.

With Irene in the later stages of removing Fairy Heart, an illusion of Mavis tricks her and Zeref that leads to her escape, who is recovered by an arriving Mest. Reunions are abound with Gajeel and Levy as well as Mavis and Zera, while elsewhere Porlyusica rushes to find Brandish, telling her she misdiagnosed the tumor initially located in Natsu; who is currently incarcerated with Lucy by an irate Dimaria.

At the guild, Irene is still draining Mavis of Fairy Heart, until Zeref walks up to Irene and asks her to stop for a brief moment so that he can have one final conversation with Mavis. Irene questions the idea, wondering what Zeref could have to say at this point, but Zeref insists on speaking with Mavis, if only briefly. It's not until the real Zeref yells to Irene that such a presence is merely a product of Mavis' Illusion Magic, one at which Mavis excels-able to use it due to Invel's incapacitation- that she realizes she's been deceived.
