Challenger is the 418th chapter of Hiro Mashima's Fairy Tail.
The story shifts into year X792, one year after the Tartarus incident and Fairy Tail's disbandment. Lucy, now a reporter working for Sorcerer Magazine covers the ongoing Grand Magic Games taking place in Crocus. She also reveals that she signed up for the purpose of tracking former Fairy Tail members' whereabouts. During the final day of the Grand Magic Games, a battle ensues between the two guilds that made it to the finals: Dullanhead and Skull Millione, which the latter won. However, the celebrations are interrupted by a hooded figure that unleashes tremendous Fire Magic and presents himself as a challenger. He turns to be none other than Natsu Dragneel, who makes short work of the Skull Millione, damaging the coliseum in the process. Lucy then is greeted by Happy and Natsu, and remarks that Fairy Tail guild is not yet over.
