Friends Forever is the 378th chapter of Hiro Mashima's Fairy Tail.

Three minutes before Face's activation, the Demons start celebrating the beginning of a new era without Magic for humanity. Meanwhile, with Ezel defeated, Wendy feels helpless to do anything to stop the countdown, but Carla reveals that she knows how to prevent the timer from reaching zero.

Summary

In the Tartarus headquarters, Franmalth informs Natsu, Lucy and Happy that Cube is reacting to Face's activation, since it is only 3 minutes before it is activated. Meanwhile, Gray, Mirajane, Erza and Lisanna are busy dealing with Keith, Sayla, Kyouka and a newly-appeared Lamy respectively, with Kyouka and Keith aknowledging that it is over for humanity, since Face is so close to being activated.

Wendy and Carla activate the self-destruction of Face

Back at the cave, with Ezel defeated, Wendy cries as she is now unable to do anything to stop Face. However, Carla tells her that if they transform the energy of the Ethernano, then Face would self-destruct and be blown to pieces. When Wendy demands to know how her friend knows all that, Carla explains that she saw this prediction when she searched for a future where Face isn't activated. She then rewrites the Magic circle to cause Face's self-destruction, and informs Wendy that in this particular future, she can see nothing else, which means that they will be caught up in the explosion and die. When she says that perhaps they could all live without Magic, Wendy insists that they all need Magic to fight against the Demons, so Carla insists that Wendy runs away and saves herself from the explosion. Wendy refuses to do so, and Carla warns her that she will not rewrite the circle unless she leaves. Wendy, however, screams for them to stay together til the end, since she cannot fly or run away, and so she crawls to Carla and hugs her, telling her that she had fun in their adventures together. The two then complete the Magic Circle together and remember all their memories from the moment Carla's egg hatched until they joined Fairy Tail.

After the two promise to be friends forever, the Magic Cirle causes a huge explosion to go off. However, Doranbolt manages to reach them and take them away just in time so that they survive the explosion, saying that he never thought those two would be the heroes to destroy Face.
