"We will protect all humans!"

Belserion to Irene Belserion in "Dragon Seed"

Belserion (.ベルせリオン Beruserion ) was a Dragon known as The Dragon of Virtue (知恵 Chie) who allied himself with humans in the Dragon Civil War.[1]

Appearance

Belserion is a large Dragon with scaly, octagonal skin patterns running across his body all the way to his wings; his most noticeable feature is the large tusks extending from both side of his face, similar to a mammoth. He has two long pointer teeth sticking out from his mouth as well, to go along with a sharp pointed nose and chin.

Personality

Belserion appears to be of a loyal and righteous air, wanting to continually serve and protect his queen Irene even if she felt like he paid his debt towards her already. He also cares very much for humans, due to them saving his life in his past.[2]

History

Some time in his past, Belserion's life was in danger but through the help of humans he was saved.[3]

Later, he returns to Dragnov Kingdom from his patrolling of the west, noting to the guards that it is becoming increasingly violent while asking for Irene's location who is in the courtyard. He finds her and tells her of the situation that the western Dragons will be invading Ishgar soon. He's adamant that he'll protect the humans towards his queen to prevent genocide.[2] After engaging in battle with some of the enemies, a scarred Belserion notes that won't win as it is too much for them but he will continuously protect the humans and Irene due his debt of his life being saved by humans. Irene wonders out loud if there's a way for a Dragon to pass on their Magic to humans: a Magic to slay Dragons or in other words, Dragon Slayer Magic, which shocks Belserion of the very idea.[4]

Magic & Abilities

Dragon Slayer Magic (炎の滅竜魔法 Honō no Metsuryū Mahō): Belserion, being a Dragon, possessed this Magic that was from the invention of Irene.[5]

Flight: Like all Dragons, Belserion possesses wings which allow him to fly.[1]

Immense Durability: After battling some of the western Dragons, Belserion is seen with many scars and cuts upon his skin but wasn't unabided by them, holding a normal conversation with Irene.[6]
