Appearance[]

Athena II is similar to the original Athena except she’s colored mostly black instead of white, the upper half of her face is covered with a visor along with a pair of horns protruding from the sides of her helm.[1]

Personality[]

According to Duke, Athena II possesses no emotions, something he considers a huge improvement over the original. Athena II does not speak much and follows Duke’s orders without question or hesitation.[2]

However, upon losing the stolen Magic that had been given to her, Athena II seemed to show what could be described as anger, not wanting others to have the power she felt belonged to her, also seeming to show shock when the original Athena attacked her.[3]

History[]

Athena II was created by Duke Barbaroa through Bodily Alchemy. When the original Athena didn’t live up to his standards, he created a new one to replace the previous whom he deemed a dud.[2]

Synopsis[]

Gold Owl arc[]

When members of Fairy Tail stormed into the Gold Owl guild to retrieve the Magic stolen from their friends, they are scattered within Ennie’s World Alchemy: Purgatory.[4] Duke showed Natsu he has Wendy and the Exceeds trapped and summoned Athena II to battle him with the newly stolen Dragon Slayer Magics and attempting to steal his Magic as well.[5]

Abilities[]

Alchemical Doll Physiology: Similar to the original Athena, as a living artificial doll created from Alchemy, Athena II’s body appears mostly machine.[6]

  • Unlimited Stamina: As a Alchemical Doll, Athena II possesses a limitless amount of stamina, meaning she never gets tired and can continue fighting indefinitely.[7]
  • Magic Absorption: Via mouths on her hands, Athena II is capable of absorbing others' Magic.[8]

Expert Hand-to-Hand Combatant: Athena II showed impressive close range fighting prowess, being able to take on Gray and Erza with extreme speed and skill.[9]

Former Magic and Abilities[]

Dragon Slayer Magic (滅竜魔法 Metsuryū Mahō): Athena II was given Dragon Slayer Magic by Duke stolen from other Dragon Slayers.[10]

Immense Magic Power: Having been created from the Magic of Rogue and Wendy, as well as having been given at least a portion of the Magic of Natsu, Athena II would presumably have immense Magic Power.[14][15] According to Duke, she is "the embodiment of destruction" and is capable of slaying Dragons. She is also shown to be capable of easily defeating Team Natsu and Jellal Fernandes.[16] However, when Duke is defeated, she loses all of the Dragon Slayer Magic that was given to her.[17][18]
