After the recent chapter and the introduction of Dogramag as an ally to Ignia and the defeat of Selene I assume that things might turn for worse for our hero’s. For starters Selene defeated and for the moment injured (not knowing if dead yet) and therefor will be out of action for a little bit. The big Elephant in the room is the partnership between Ignia and Dogramag and I think this might lead with Viernes joining as well (not sure just yet). This might spark something in Selene to call for help from team Natsu and request that both them and Diabolos work together to stop all 3 dragon gods and asks Natsu if he knows other dragon slayers (Sting, Rogue and Cobra) and she’ll teleport them to here for assistance and from Diabolos might bring Nebaru (sticky dragon slayer) back because as we know he wasn’t killed just had his magic separated for a moment but by now he should be back to full power and ready to fight alongside his guild mates again. Hell maybe Wraith might float back for one more fight with the guilds that took him in. I dunno just wishful thinking.

So I was wondering if a mage loses all their magical power, like if it was completely drained to the point of zero, if they would die.
Just think of it like chakra from Naruto. If a ninja loses all their chakra they would die. I’m just wondering if it’s the same thing with Ethernano.
I just want to see how the rest of the team reacts to the death
I personally think it's Arc of Embodiment. It doesn't have any limits on how powerful the things you create are like Gemini's copying ability. It's only limit is not being able to create completely living things, but you can still make objects that replicate them and even use their magic abilities.

I highly think that acnologia deserves his own anime were he becomes back to to life. It might seem stupid but i still think it is amazing. Here is my imagination:
The way he is revived:
Lets say there is a cult that worships him or zeref and they sacrifice their lifes to bring him back to life with magic ( with his arm healed) but acnologia is confused and wonders on earth wondering what he should do and keeps having flashbacks of his past life and his fight against natsu and what natsu said to him.
As Acnolgia is wondering on heart he arrives in a ruined village. The village seems to be attacked by bandits and it is abondoned. As acnologia is walking around the village he smells someone that is still alive. He stumbles upon a little girl who is near death's door. Acnologia suddenly had a flashback/headache of the "Child" that was brutally killed by dragons and one of Acnologia's reasons to massacre dragons. Struggling to figure out what to do, he decided to heal her. After she woke up, Acnologia questioned her about what happened ( with his stoic personality and arrogant tone). She tells him the whole story and her name, which is Jenna. After learning what happened Acnologia leaves the village not caring of what happened. After a few minutes, Acnologia halts and asks Jenna of why is he following him. She replied saying she have no where else to go. After a few months of travelling together, they warm up to one another. Acnologia decides to take care of here for the time being as he decides to not repeat the past of what happened to "that child" as the little girl slowly changes the arrogant dragon with her affection. But Jenna ain't an ordinary girl as she have connections to the Gods. The Gods descend on earth to take Jenna for some reason and thats how Acnologia fights the Gods to keep Jenna. Acnologia Fights the Gods and on the verge of death ( since he fought OP Gods) Acnologia surpasses his limits by completly emptying out his energy ( Like Natsu did with the fire god guy in hades arc) and creating a new vessel to devour EVERYHING , including Divine Power ( the power that the Gods uses, not magic) Space, Time, Reality, Concepts INCLUDING UINVERSES AND MULTIVERSES as he devours the soul of the final God and Transcendcses and becomes THE DRAGON GOD.
Now he lives happily ever after with Jenna. Btw Jenna is a half-god so yah thats why she was a target.
New Abilities/Power/Magic That Acnologia Got:
The Devourer: He can devour absolutely everything and turn into energy such as stamina, strength, speed and can even turn it into Ethernanos and/or magic e.g. if he eats space he gains space based magic( which he does as he devours all of the existence and the Final God which he also gains his abilities).
Infinite Ethernanos via The Devourer
Transcendent Magic power.
General magic obtained:
Healing magic ( stronger and can apply to himself so inf regeneration)
So the title I put above is an interesting topic, cause this got me thinking a lot about the ending of the Tartaros arc. And the only characters you ever saw were team Natsu going to their separate ways and not everyone else was shown where they went in their own paths after Makarov disbands Fairy Tail. So I kinda want to add some things in that weren’t actually shown during the actual ending of Tartaros arc, after all I am a fanfic writer and Fairy Tail is definitely one of the shows that inspired me to be one, and I’m grateful for it. So here’s the different scenario of how I would end the Tartaros arc in a satisfying way that the FT fans would appreciate more.
Plot: After the long battle with Nine Demon Gates and the underworld king, Mard Geer, Natsu was completely devastated over the death of his dad Igneel who was inside him the whole time while the latter was searching for him. He decides to go out of town to train for over a year in order to get stronger and Happy goes along with him. Gray who now has the Ice Devil Slayer magic ability that his father gave to him after battling with him and died. He stands over at his grave as Juvia goes over to see him and reveal to him that she was the one that fought and defeated Keyes, and as a result of Silver’s death. Gray was furious at the Water mage but at the same time he broke down in tears and thanks her for doing what she did. Juvia hugs him and never letting him go. Erza remembers of her violate upbringing, trembling to herself that she might not ever trust people. However, Jellal appears to support her, stating that she’ll be the reason him and the Oracion Seis members’s darkness will vanquish once they encounter again in the future, which puts the Titania at ease. Lucy returns to her apartment only to see the note that Natsu left. And after reading the note that him and Happy were going to be gone for over a year to train, she immediately runs out of the apartment to go after him while tearing up at the same time. She just recently had to go through something she really didn’t want to do, and that was sacrificing Aquarius’s key. She really didn’t want to be alone, as she drops down to her knees tearing up, she hears a familiar voice talking to her.
Lucy slowly looks up and sees a familiar redhead. This was none other than Flare who came to see her favorite blondie after noticing the Fairy Tail guild was in ruins.
Flare: What’s wrong?
Lucy: A lot has happened here. I gotta look for Natsu and Happy.
Flare: They’re not with you? Where did they go?
Lucy decides to take this conversation back to her apartment after realizing that Natsu’s long gone. Flare goes with her. And a few minutes later after they made it back to the apartment, Lucy explains to Flare of the whole event that occurred here in Magnolia town.
After hearing the entire explanation, Flare understood it all of what Lucy had to do in order to save her friends and had to sacrifice a celestial key as a result in order to summon the celestial spirit king. The crimson haired mage hugged her and started to tear up. Lucy asks her to stay with her since she doesn’t want to be alone, and Flare just gave out a warm smile and replies to her that she’ll definitely stay with her as long as she likes, after all she did come all this way from being with her giant family in Sun Village just to see her favorite blondie.
After Laxus was healed from all the poison he inhaled in order to save his comrades and everyone in Magnolia town, the Thunder Legion decided to go over to the Blue Pegasus guild to join. Laxus, Freed and Bickslow were the only ones going with the exception of Evergreen who has her own plans on being with Elfman after learning from Cana on what he did and so on. The Stone mage takes upon herself by sticking with not only Elfman but with his siblings, Mirajane and Lisanna as well to train with them and spending time with them.
Wendy and Carla go over to the Lamia Scale guild to join, which made Sherria happy.
Gajeel, Levy and Panther Lily head over to the Magic Council headquarters to join after Warrod recommended them to.
And the last but not least Makarov travels over to Alvarez to negotiate in order to stop them from invading Magnolia and protect his “kids”. Question is will the old man’s plan work or will it fail?
And this is how you end the Tartaros arc and set up the plot point with Makarov traveling to Alvarez in order to protect his “children”. Did you like the extended ending I put here for the Tartaros arc? If so, feel free to leave a comment. Also in case y’all are wondering why I added Flare in the scene with Lucy, it’s pretty obvious that the crimson haired mage came into mind. And Lucy legit says as she was running to go after Natsu and Happy while tearing up that she doesn’t want to be alone. So I figured if I change the scene and wrote it differently, that to me would’ve been more satisfying to see Flare noticing that Lucy was feeling down and so on, and someone has to be there for her comfort.
